On Friday China kicked off its Single’s Day and one of the major hit for the day was selling of Xiaomi Redmi 4A with over 1 million units of the phone sold. Alibaba alone made over $5 millions (Rs 33,515 crores approximately) in transactions within the first hour and is more than the transaction value made last year in an hour. The Xiaomi phone was sold in impressive number with millions of units sold within 24 hours on the occasion of Single’s day.
Xiaomi confirmed its 1 million unit sale
It was confirmed by a Tweet from Vice President of Xiaomi Global, Hugo Barra that over CNY 1.2 billion (approximately Rs 1,270 crores) in terms of sales was made by Xiaomi on Single’s Day and also said that over 1 millions pieces of Xiaomi Redmi 4A units were sold in 24 hours. The phone was one of the top selling products on Single’s Day. His tweet said – “Xiaomi’s China SinglesDay 2016 stats: RMB 1.295 billion total sales; 1 million Redmi 4A sold (# 1 selling smartphone).” This confirmed that the phone was a major hit in terms of sales.
Details of the sales
There were many confirmations and information related to sale of the smartphone that confirmed it to be best selling smartphone. It was also posted in the MIUI forum that “We managed to surpass last year record! Now we shall wait for the final figure concluded by Xiaomi.” The post also confirmed that CNY 1.25 billion sales milestones were achieved in 23 hours and 20 minutes. The post also gives clear statement that the sales were far better this year as compared to last years’ single’s day occasion.
