It has recently released two smartphones – Cloud Candy and Cloud Gem. Both the phones have price tags that are indeed a steal (the Cloud Gem is priced higher than the Cloud Candy) and it is expected that the gadgets will appeal to the youth, especially the college-going crowd. The phones highly resemble each other in terms of features though you can differentiate between the two in terms of a couple of attributes.

For instance, Cloud Gem has a somewhat better RAM capacity compared to the Cloud Candy and it has a slimness of 10 mm – just 0.5 mm less than the bezel width of the latter but that isn’t noticeable when you carry the phones.

Specifications of Intex Cloud 3G Candy and 3G Gem

Both Cloud Candy and Cloud Gem have remarkably compact form factors with identical dimensions of 12.52 cm x 6.33 cm. Cloud Candy is a wee bit thicker and bulkier with frame thickness of 1 cm – 0.5 mm more than Cloud Gem. However, you won’t feel the difference in bulkiness when you hold them.

Talking about the display of the phones, Gem as well as Candy has screen sizes of 4 inches with a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels – that’s good enough to deliver sharp and bright images. Twisted Nematic screen feature with 16M Color spectrum means you view pictures, illustrations, images, representations and graphics that are incredibly vivid and lifelike.

Capacitive multitouch touch-screen functionality translates into quick scrolling through icons and features with a light swish of the fingers. 1 GHz single-core processor with Spreadtrum SC7715 chipset facilitates smooth and convenient multitasking. The phone is powered by the Android 4.4.2 KitKat OS.

You can also enjoy playing interactive video games, thanks to the ARM Mali 400 MP1 graphic processing unit (GPU). The Lithium-Ion battery with a specification of 1400 mAh gives you up to 6 hours of talk time and 350 hours of standby time. Both Intex smartphones have dual cameras – one 2.5 megapixel rear camera and one 0.3 megapixel camera at the front. The back camera boasts of features like LED flash, panorama shot capturing, HDR, and video recording.

Intex Cloud 3G Candy has a RAM capacity of 256 MB whereas the Cloud 3G Gem has a RAM of 512 MB.

Connectivity Features

When it comes to connectivity, both gadgets are compatible with 2G and 3G broadband and cellular technologies. They’re also compliant with Wi-Fi (complete with tethering), Bluetooth (v4.0), and USBv2.0, EDGE, and GPRS technologies.

Price of Intex Candy and Gem

Rs. 2,999 is too trifle a price to pay for what the Cloud 3G Candy offers you and Rs. 3,599 for the Cloud 3G Gem is not too pricey either. There are few smartphones brands available in the market that come pre-loaded with so many resourceful features at such modest prices.
