The Intex Aqua 4G Strong is being pitched as a low-budget 4G phone so no prizes for guessing that this phone’s USP is the 4G connectivity on offer from Intex.
Indian brands are pushing 4G smartphones in the market
Over the last year or so India’s very own smartphone brands have adopted the strategy of pushing 4G phones in the market, especially in the low-budget segment. We have seen brands such as Micromax and Lava rolling out a number of low-budget phones that support 4G connectivity and it shouldn’t surprise anyone that Intex is now adopting the same strategy.
The reason for this has to be a long term focus on creating a market for 4G devices which will benefit brands like Intex because it allows them to roll out cheaper devices for a good margin while pitching 4G as a feature. This trend will not last long as 4G adoption in India will likely pick up steam in a couple of years so the likes of Intex and Micromax would like to capitalize while the trend lasts.

Micromax has been the aggressor as far as this strategy is concerned. In the last year alone the Gurgaon based company has dished out innumerable low-budget 4G smartphones. Perhaps, Intex wants to follow suit. Intex has been providing consumers a lot of options through its Cloud series of smartphones and now the 4G focus seems to have shifted to the Aqua series.
The current focus on low-budget phones has not meant that Intex has lost sight of other segments. In fact Intex could very well be planning to push some mid-range devices in the near future. Keep watching this space for more Cloud series and Aqua series phones from Intex.
