Intex Cloud Glory 4G is yet Another Great Low-budget Addition to the Ever Expanding Intex Portfolio

After impressing market analysts and consumers alike in the first five months of 2016 Intex has decided that there is no looking back now. In accordance with its latest strategy to push 4G powered entry level smartphones in the market the company has launched yet another smartphone with specs that would make phones twice its price feeling embarrassed. This new product is the Intex Cloud Glory 4G. Let’s take a closer look at the specifications on this phone.

Specifications – Intex Cloud Glory 4G

The Intex Cloud Glory 4G has a 4.5 inch display with a screen resolution of 480 x 854 pixels. The pixel density of the display is 217 ppi. The phone comes with a 1 GHz Quad Core ARM Cortex-A53 MT6735M processor alongside the Mali-T720 MP1 GPU and a 1 GB RAM to boot. The internal storage on the phone is 8 GB and this storage is expandable up to 32 GB via a microSD card slot.

The primary camera on the Cloud Glory 4G is a 5 megapixel unit with dual LED flash and it supports HD video recording. The secondary camera is a 2 megapixel unit. While this may not seem like a great camera configuration it is important to remember that we are talking about an entry level smartphone here.

The dual SIM phone supports a number of connectivity options but most notable of them is the support for 4G. The battery capacity on the Cloud Glory 4G is 1800 mAh. Once again this is a specification that is commendable for the phone’s price segment. According to Intex, the phone would last up to 7 hours of talktime on 2G and up to 270 hours of standby time on 2G. The phone weighs a mere 120 grams which is expected from a phone of this form factor.

Another impressive feature about low-budget or entry level smartphones from Intex this year has been that they support the latest version of Android OS. This is certainly not true for a large majority of Intex’s competitors. Intex has certainly taken a big leap in terms of software this year.

After launching the Intex Aqua Fish earlier this year which was powered by the Sailfish OS, Intex has moved on to adopting the Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS very quickly for the rest of its phones. I am pretty sure that Intex has more Sailfish OS powered phones in its lineup for the future but it remains to be seen whether Intex decides to push for the adoption of Sailfish OS on a much bigger scale or not.

Intex has a much more diverse product portfolio than its homebred competitors right now

Intex is one of the top smartphone brands in India but with a wide variety of product launches this year the New Delhi based company has trumped its homebred competition. While Micromax certainly produces the maximum number of smartphones among its competitors the incremental innovation that every smartphone brand strives for these days isn’t very high on Micromax’s radar. If it is their product portfolio doesn’t seem to suggest so. Karbonn doesn’t produce any high-end smartphones at all. And Lava fails to deliver new products at the rapid pace now associated with most smartphone brands. It is therefore easy to notice that Intex certainly has built up a much more diverse product portfolio.
