If anyone doubted that the Chinese brand LeEco was only kidding about launching more high quality tech products in India other than their obviously beautiful smartphones, they better change their minds now. LeEco just made its intentions about the Indian consumer electronics market absolutely clear. They want to own it. They have stated that their target is to become the number one player in online TV sales in India.
The company has now launched its Super3 range of Ultra HD TVs in India. This segment is one of LeEco’s most important consumer electronics segments as is evidenced by the fact that before their rebranding earlier this year the company itself was known as LeTV. LeEco is one of the largest online video companies in China and SmartTVs are a bit of their speciality.
Let’s take a closer look at the LeEco Super3 TVs.
LeEco Super3 X55 LED TV
The LeEco Super3 X55 is a 55 inch Ultra HD LED TV with 4K resolution. The most important bit about a SmartTV, other than the display, is internet connectivity. The LeEco Super3 X55 will have a built-in Wi-Fi and LAN connection. This is of course an Android based device.
The picture engine on the Super3 X55 is MACE-PRO4, which is the preferred picture engine on 4K displays. The viewing angle on the TV is 178Ā°. The response time is 8 ms and the refresh rate on the TV is 60 Hz. It comes with 2 speakers which support Dolby audio and DTS Premium Sound.
The power consumption when the TV is in play mode is 180 W, while the standby power consumption is less than 0.5 W. The main device connectivity includes 3 USB ports – 1 USB 2.0 and 1 USB 3.0 on the side with another USB 3.0 on top. There are 3 HDMI ports and one each of the following – Ethernet (RJ 45), PC Audio In, PC In (D-Sub), Digital Audio Output, and RF Connectivity Input(s). Other than the built-in Wi-Fi and LAN the TV also has built-in Bluetooth 4.0, SD card slot, and 3 AV inputs.
The TV can be availed with or without the TV stand on offer. With the stand the combo’s dimensions are 1231.6 x 799.9 x 245.8 mm and the combo weighs 24.5 kg. Without the stand the dimensions become 1231.6 x721.3 x 46 mm and the weight comes down to 21.5 kg. For more specs on the Super3 X55 check out the product page on our main website linked below:

LeEco Super3 X65 LED TV
This is one of the two 65 inch SmartTVs on offer from LeEco in the Super3 series. The specifications on this TV are not very different from the Super3 X65, in fact they are largely the same. The major difference of course is the display and that obviously means the dimensions and the weight change accordingly.

There are only 3 other noteworthy difference. The first being that the Super3 X65 supports the optical Sony/Philips Digital Interface Format (S/PDIF) which is an interconnect for digital audio. The second being the response time on the TV, which is 9.5 ms. And the third being the power consumption, which comes down to 150 W for this TV.
LeEco Super3 Max65 LED TV
This is the best and most hyped of the three products. The Super3 Max65 has specs similar to the other two but there are a number of noteworthy differences.
The Super3 Max65 has 2.1 channels stereo with 7 speakers, which means that when it comes to the audio quality this is altogether a different beast than the other two TVs on offer in the Super3 series. The response time for this TV is 8 ms while the refresh rate is 120 Hz. The power consumption on play is 190 W. The standby power consumption remains the same for all three TVs, as expected of SmartTVs.

The Super3 X55 and X65 comes with the following things out of the box – main unit, remote control, AA battery x 2, user manual, 3 in 1 adapting cable, and wall mounted sleeve x 2. In addition to these the Max65 comes with 3D glasses.
It is worth mentioning that even though the SmartTV market isn’t huge in India just yet, it has started picking up some traction in the last 12 months or so. What any product segment desperately needs is a high quality portfolio to begin with and then for a market as big as India, finding customers for your products is only a question of time. The LeEco Super3 TVs are certainly a quality SmartTV series and given LeEco’s recent smartphone success in India I would not be too surprised to see them make an impact in this segment as well.
All three TVs in the Super3 series are Android based TVs and have the company’s own EUI 5.5 as the user interface on them. If this LeEco Super3 series can make a name for itself that will open the gates for demand for better Android TVs in India.
While the Super3 TVs are great it is worth noting that this isn’t LeEco’s latest SmartTV offering overall. It is about a year old and is only the latest offering outside China. In its home country LeEco has already launched the LeEco Super4 series. We can expect to see the Super4 series in India soon if the Super3 series is well received.
