Meizu M3 Max with a 3 GB RAM and a 4,100 mAh Battery Coming to India Soon

Meizu is a Chinese consumer electronics company headquartered in Zhuhai, Guangdong Province. Founded in 2003, the company began its journey developing MP3 players. Since 2008, however, the company has been focusing primarily on the smartphone business. It takes pride in developing high-end, user-friendly smartphones and is among the top ten smartphone manufacturers in China.
Meizu’s latest addition to its portfolio of mobile devices is the 6-inch phablet – the Meizu M3 Max. Here is a detailed look at its specifications and features.
Specifications – Meizu M3 Max
With respect to the form factor, the dimensions of the Meizu M3 Max are 163.4 x 81.6 x 7.94 mm. The device has a 6-inch IPS display with a screen resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels, 450-nits brightness, and a contrast ratio of 1000:1.
The Meizu M3 Max has a 13-megapixel primary camera and a 5-megapixel secondary camera. The camera unit is equipped with a dual-tone LED flash. The primary camera features Phase Detect Auto Focus (PDAF), an f/2.2 aperture, a Sony IMX258 sensor, and a 5P lens. The secondary camera has an f/2.0 aperture and a 4P lens.

The Meizu M3 Max has a 1.8 GHz Octa Core MediaTek Helio P10 processor. The device packs 3 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal memory (including the memory used for OS and apps), which is expandable up to 128 GB through a microSD card that would require the SIM 2 slot.
As for the platform, the Meizu M3 Max runs on Android v6.0 (Marshmallow) based on the Flyme OS 5.2 operating system. The phablet has a high-capacity 4,100 mAh lithium-polymer battery. It supports fast charging and incorporates a fingerprint scanner as one of the sensors.
The Meizu M3 Max is a dual-SIM (LTE + LTE) device. Other connectivity and Internet features include support for 3G and 4G (VoLTE), Wi-Fi (802.11b/g/n), Bluetooth v4.1, GPRS, EDGE, Tethering, USB Type-C, GPS, and a 3.5-mm audio jack.

The competitors of the Meizu M3 Max include models such as the Lenovo Vibe P1 Turbo, Asus ZenFone Selfie ZD551KL (32 GB), Gionee Elife S6, Sony Xperia ZR, HTC Desire 826, and Oppo N1 Mini.
The Lenovo Vibe P1 Turbo seems to be the closest competitor to the Meizu M3 Max in terms of specs and features. The former has a way superior 4,900 mAh battery and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection for the screen. However, the processor in the Meizu M3 Max is clocked slightly higher than the 1.5 GHz Octa Core processor incorporated in the Lenovo Vibe P1 Turbo. The Meizu M3 Max also has a larger display and the fast charging feature, which the Lenovo Vibe P1 Turbo lacks.
Akin to companies like Xiaomi, Meizu is looking to join the “Make in India” campaign and subsequently establish a stronger presence in the Indian smartphone market. Leon Zhang, Marketing Head at Meizu India, revealed that the company has already made significant investments in India. The company is focusing on online marketing and looking to make an impact particularly in larger Indian cities for now. Zhang added that the company will eventually target smaller cities through offline marketing.
Meizu, which is backed by the Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba, clearly sees a lot of potential in the Indian smartphone market. It aims to sell at least one million smartphone units in India by the end of this year. According to reports, Meizu is in talks with Foxconn, a contract manufacturer, to begin the production of smartphones in Chennai.
The Meizu M3 Max, which is priced at about Rs. 17,000, is available in four colours – Champagne Gold, Silver, Gray, and Rose Gold. Other box contents include the user manual, battery, and charger.
The device comes with a one-year manufacturer warranty and a six-month warranty for accessories in the box.
