At iSpyPrice we have a mission to help you decide which products to buy because we believe that a price conscious market needs a price aware consumer. This mission includes helping you ascertain through our collective research on the iSpyPrice Blog and through our price comparison solution which products would qualify as ‘best buy’ for your budget.

In light of this we sometimes provide you with a list of top 5 products to buy in a certain price segment. This helps narrow down your search to the best products. Today we are back with our list of top smartphones under Rs. 15,000 in India. These products are ranked according to a metric we call spec-score on iSpyPrice. This spec-score is a reflection of how good a smartphone’s specifications are compared to the price it is selling at. We hope you find the list useful.

5. Yu Yunicorn

Micromax’s subsidiary Yu made quite an impact in the Indian market in 2015 but this year it hasn’t quite had similar success. The same can be said about its parent company, which started the year in a bit of a turmoil but has made steady recovery since then.

The Yu Yunicorn is perhaps the best value for money smartphone yet from Yu Televentures. With an octa-core processor, a 4 GB RAM, and a 4000 mAh battery, the Yu Yunicorn is a pretty good option under Rs. 15,000. The one thing to consider while buying Yu phones is the build quality. Yu hasn’t produced a high quality build that can rival the likes of Xiaomi and LeEco. Having said that Rs. 11,790 is very much a bargain for such specifications.

4. Lenovo ZUK Z1

The Lenovo ZUK series is Lenovo’s attempt to offer consumers an alternative high quality mid-range smartphone lineup other than Lenovo owned Motorola brand phones. The Lenovo ZUK Z1 is certainly one tough phone.

It has a 5.5 inch display with 3 GB RAM and a 2.5 GHz Quad Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor alongside an Adreno 330 GPU. This is what works in the ZUK Z1’s favor and puts it one rank above the Yu Yunicorn in our list.

Priced at Rs. 13,499 the Lenovo ZUK Z1 is one of Lenovo’s best offering not just in the under Rs. 15,000 price segment but overall.

3. Coolpad Note 5

Ever since LeEco has taken a majority share in Coolpad group the company has become more pro-active in India. Coolpad has been assessing the Indian market well and offering good value for money phones. The average Indian consumer prefers great specifications, which should almost certainly include a great battery, and pocket friendly devices. This is exactly what Coolpad Note 5 promises to be.

A 5.5 inch display with a 1.5 GHz Octa Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 processor alongside an Adreno 405 GPU and 4 GB RAM make the Coolpad Note 5 an extremely efficient smartphone. This is also Coolpad’s best offering in the mid-range segment.

2. Xiaomi Redmi Note 3

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 is perhaps the most popular device in this price segment and deservedly so. This smartphone has already created ripples in the Indian market and is considered a blockbuster hit from the Chinese company.

The Redmi Note 3 comes with a 1.8 GHz Hexa Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 processor and 3 GB RAM. It also boasts of a very impressive 4050 mAh battery capacity. This is not a common battery capacity for this price segment, or at least for the Redmi Note 3’s price.

The phone is currently available for Rs. 11,999 and those are terrific specifications for that price. However, Xiaomi phones are more than just value for money devices. The Redmi Note 3 has a sleek design and is yet another Xiaomi phone with a high quality build. We would definitely recommend the Redmi Note 3. In fact, at the time of this writing it is the second best selling phone listed on iSpyPrice for the month of October 2016.

1. LeEco Le 2

LeEco has been the most talked about emerging smartphone brand in India this year. A large part of the credit for that should go to LeEco’s marketing team but that doesn’t take away the fact that this Chinese company has been dishing out one spectacular product after another in various segments of the consumer electronics industry. From smartphones to smartTVs, these guys sell everything and almost everything has a premium feel to it.

It should come as no surprise then that a LeEco phone is topping this list. The LeEco Le 2 is the number one phone in our list of top 5 smartphones under Rs. 15,000 in India as of this writing.

The phone comes with a 5.5 inch IPS display and a 1.8 GHz Octa Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 processor alongside a 3 GB RAM and a 16 GB primary camera. All for the price of Rs. 11,999.

The LeEco Le 2 has been the top seller among all LeEco phones on our website this month. This means that consumers like you have found it to be a worthy device and have favored this phone over most other 15k phones. Thanks to its brilliant specs and high demand the LeEco Le 2 has made it to the top of our list. Let’s not forget that it is also the most sought after value for money phone in its price segment.
