With Tokyo games, from September 15 to 18, Sony is supposed to announce the launch of their play station PS4Neo and PS4 Slim version. The Wall street journal has learned this via Game spot.
According to trade circles the Ps 4 Neo may come with support native 4k gaming and better virtual reality. Releasing the PS4Neo in September will be a strategy move to boost sales, as it is the holiday season.
It is further speculated that Sony might come out with a slimmer version, but this does not sound possible as previously, when Play station 3 was introduced in 2006, the slimmer version was introduced almost after three years, in 2009. Sony president Andrew House had confirmed the existence of the Neo but the slimmer version had no mention.
Launching this in September could be to book pre orders for both Neo and Slim for supplying in October. This would put it in direct competition with the Xbox One S. If Sony does release the PS 4 Neo this fall, it will not face any competition as Microsoft’s Project Scorpio, will not be released until 2017, which is supposed to be the most powerful console.
PS4 Neo is said to be pushing 4K/Ultra HD resolution that means it is four times clearer than the current PS4. The Neo is also marketed to 4k TV owners to take advantage of the resolution.
Ps4 Neo runs faster than PS 4 as it is powered by its CPU to run with 8 Jaguar Cores at 2.1 GHz, in comparison to PS4’s 8 Jaguar Core at 1.6 GHz. Its GPU is also improved with the bandwidth higher for a stable and increased frame rate and higher visual fidelity. Sony has constantly reminded its developers to increase the frame rate in comparison to the current PS 4.
When it comes to PS4 Neo and PS4 Gaming library, it is to be noted that the games released in October will have two modes, Base and Neo to prepare for the upcoming console. PS4 and PS4 Neo will share the same game library.
The price of the current PS4 is about $ 350, the PS4 Neo will definitely be priced higher.
PS4 Neo will also support Play station Virtual Reality Headset, that’s one consolation.
It is worth noting that the RAM configuration will be the same as current PS4 , that is, 8 GB of GDDR5.
There are some minor improvements in PS4 Neo with 512mb more memory and more bandwidth 218GB/s to 176GB/s. Regarding the slimmer version there is no confirmation from Sony.
Looking forward to a more enhanced gaming experience.
