Activision Surge by Candy Crush Deal and Overwatch Launch

Activision Blizzard Inc has acquired Candy Crush maker King Digital as well as launched Overwatch Game which leads the firm to a Surge in the Second Quarter of 2016. On Thursday, The firm has announced the Second Quarter Revenue. The Firm has improved the revenue if compared from same quarter of last year.

Bobby Kotick (Chief Executive) said that Overwatch Game’s Success, Call of Duty Game’s record first half performance, Candy Crush Game’s continuous growth and some other smaller things in combination makes it possible for the firm to deliver a record Q2.
Activision Company’s total adjusted revenue in this second quarter has increased to $1.57 Billion (around Rs 10495 crores) from last year’s $1.04 billion (around Rs 6952 crores). The firm has got 50.4 percent surge in its quarterly revenue.
The Effect of Overwatch :
Activision is well known for its games like Activision World of Warcraft and Activision Call of Duty. The firm launched a new game “Overwatch”. The new game has over 15 million gamers and gave around $500 million revenue to the firm. Overwatch has a great success which gave Activision the largest ever quarterly online players. Now it has monthly active users increased by 13% to 33 million.
The Effect of Candy Crush :
Activision’s net income got a decline of 40% to $127 million (17 cents per share), this caused due to $6 billion acquisition of King Digital in February. The firm also announced that King Digital’s users declined to 409 million thus King will launch a non-Candy Crush game by the end of year.
The firm has also an improvement in its complete year revenue from $6.13 billion to $6.40 billion as well as the complete year profit from 69 cents per share to 87 cents per share. Zacconi said that launch of “Pokémon Go” not has any big impact on King Digital’s Games but he also added that Pokémon Fans are now attracted towards the Mobile and it is good thing for the Gaming World.
