Unexpected fallout in price for iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus and iPhone SE

With the arrival of iPhone 7 on charts and its expected launch in India on 7th October, Apple India announced the slashing of price for iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus by upto Rs 22000. It is indeed a great news because with iPhone 7 price touching sky high, Apple fans can look forward purchasing the previous models at a slashed price.

Current and Slashed Price of iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus:

iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus wooed customers across the globe with their exemplary design aesthetics and blew our mind with the latest technology integration. The earlier price of iPhone 6s 128GB model was around Rs 82,000 but with a cut down of price of approximately Rs 22,000 the model is available in the market at Rs 60,000. The launch price of the grand iPhone 6S Plus was a whooping Rs 8000 less than 1 lakh i.e Rs 92,000 but with the price slash it is expected to be priced at Rs 70,000. The starting price of iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus currently starts at Rs 50,000 and Rs 60,000 respectively with double storage offered.

Current and Slashed price of iPhone SE:

The sale of Apple’s 4 inch iPhone SE is not as high as iPhone 6S but the slash in price can be a boost for Apple lovers. The phone was launched in March 2016 at a price of Rs 49,000 for 64GB model but with a slash of Rs 5000, it is currently available in market at Rs 44,000. The 16GB model still remains to be at the same price of Rs 39,000 without any slash.

Strategy for iPhone 7:

The sale of iPhone 6S touched remarkably high crossing millions of handsets sold within a very restricted time-frame. The discount or price slash was fixed after the launch of iPhone 7 in United States and before its arrival in India on 7th October. The starting price of iPhone 7 is expected to be around Rs 72,000 and the whole price slash thing is a strategy to boost sale of iPhone 7 without hurting the sale of its exiting iPhone 6S, iPhone 6S Plus and iPhone SE models. Slashing the prices is a great strategy adopted by Apple India to set up a customer base and promote sales of the new launch.
