Android 7.0 Nougat is the latest buzz and after Google brought out the latest build of latest OS, HTC announced bunch of phones to get the update soon. HTC announced in the 4th quarter its phones HTC 10, HTC One M9 and HTC One A9 will get the upgrades. It is now true that HTC One M9 unlocked variants have been rolled out with Android Nougat 7.0 update. Along with this HTC also announced the carrier variants of the smartphone will soon receive the updates.
Latest updates of HTC phones
On its social media sites and channels HTC announced and confirmed the rollout of Android 7.0 Nougat for the unlocked variants of HTC One M9. It is also expected that the carrier variants of the phone will soon start getting the updates by end of the year. The update about the software was sent via OTA and also by going through the settings menu one can manually check if the update has been received or not. HTC 10 unlocked variants users got the update message last about the Android 7.0 Nougat update. As per the plan of HTC it is only HTC One A9 that is yet to receive any update as per the year-end deadline set for it.
Previous claims and promises
Back in March HTC made some promises regarding the update of the software but was not able to fulfil them. After HTC launched its One A9 phone it also made a statement that all the unlocked version of the HTC phone will get every Android update within 15 days of it being converted into Nexus Device by Google. It is however evident that although the company made the claim it could not keep up with its promise of 15 days update.
Conclusion
HTC made promise for updating three of its phones with Android 7.0 Nougat out of which two of them have already received the required software update. It is only the HTC One A9 that is yet to receive any update but we can only hope that HTC keeps its promise of updating the phones before end of this year. With 2016 coming to an end, it is thus expected that HTC One A9 is also to start getting Android 7.0 Nougat update.
