When it comes to global sales figures and market share, though, Huawei is on a roll, to say the least. As of Q2, 2016, the company holds the third highest market share at 8.9% (source: Gartner). During the same period, its unit sales saw a 16% increase with respect to the sales in Q2, 2015. Huawei is not very far behind Apple, which is currently at the second position with a share of 12.9%.
Samsung sits pretty at the first position with a high share of 22.3%. The South Korean giant may be recovering rather quickly from the Note 7 crisis, but its reputation and revenues have certainly taken a massive hit. That said, Huawei and other rapidly growing Chinese players (Oppo, Xiaomi, etc.) will surely look to capitalize on this situation.
Huawei is making all the right moves with respect to product launches as well. The Huawei Mate 9 and Mate S2 models are slated for a December release according to our sources. The two widely awaited smartphone models will likely have a significant effect on the dynamics of the high-end smartphone market. It is rumored that the two smartphones will flaunt high-resolution dual-camera units with the incorporation of Leica optics. Also, they will probably be powered by Octa Core Kirin 960 processors.
The Huawei Honor Holly 3 is available in the colors – black, white, and gold – and priced at about Rs. 10,000. The smartphone comes with a one-year manufacturer warranty and a six-month warranty for in-the-box accessories.
