Ever since the Reliance Jio Preview offer hit the Indian market, consumers around the country have been treated to some great new products that support the offer. A number of brands have come on-board and are helping start a new 4G revolution in India.
Intex is a home-bred brand that takes prides in offering innovative tech through its products and embracing the latest market trends and doing it quickly. With that in mind the New Delhi based company has launched a new smartphone with 4G connectivity and VoLTE support. The best part? It wouldn’t even cost you Rs. 5,000.
Let’s take a look at the specifications on the Intex Aqua Strong 5.1.
Specifications – Intex Aqua Strong 5.1
The Intex Aqua Strong 5.1 comes with a 5 inch display that has a screen resolution of 480 x 854 pixels, which translates to a pixel density of 196 ppi. The display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 2 technology.
Truth be told this isn’t Intex’s best budget phone so one shouldn’t expect it to boast of any charming specs for its price. Having said that the phone does come with a 1 GHz Quad Core MediaTek MT6735 processor and 1 GB RAM. Intex has previously launched phones with even better specs in a similar price segment so this should come as no surprise to Intex fans.

The internal storage on the phone is a pretty standard 8 GB, which can be expanded up to 32 GB if you are willing to buy a microSD card. This is a dual-SIM phone (GSM + LTE) and as mentioned before, it does have VoLTE support. This may come as a surprise to smartphone enthusiasts but the truth is that, for reasons best known to them, many brands still don’t offer VoLTE support on budget phones.
Other connectivity options on the Aqua Strong 5.1 include Wifi 802.11 b/g/n, Hotspot, and microUSB 2.0 Tethering options. The phone also supports A-GPS. The dimensions on the Aqua Strong 5.1 are 141.2 x 72.3 x 9.47 mm and it will weigh around 150 grams.
The battery capacity on the phone is a pretty good 2800 mAh. Considering the fact that some brands still tend to offer similar battery capacity on their flagship high-end phones this battery capacity on a sub-Rs. 5,000 phone should count as brilliant. As far as talktime is concerned the battery is expected to last 22 hours on a 2G network, 16 hours on a 3G network, and 16 hours on a 4G network. The standby time is expected to be 466 hours.
Much like some other Intex offerings of late the Aqua Strong 5.1 comes with multi-language support in the form of the Matrabhasha app and a few other apps out of the box. The phone is powered by Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS.
The Jio Preview offer is already making waves
When Reliance first entertained the idea of the Jio Preview offer, it seemed as if it may be too good to be true. As it turns out, it’s not and it’s already been accepted and lauded by tech pundits, industry veterans, and the general public alike.
The Jio Preview offer will change a lot of things in the long run and the first thing it will change is the regular Indian’s tendency to accept make do internet connection as a default. While it is true that many Indians have good high speed internet connections it is also true that most don’t.

The Jio Preview offer is more than just a step in the right direction. It will go a long way in changing consumer perception and increase demand for better connectivity at lower rates. Eventually it is always the consumer who prevails. We expect more Telecom companies to come up with similar offers soon to counter a potential long term Reliance monopoly.
Intex and all the other brands that have partnered with Reliance Jio are making the faster and affordable internet dream a reality for many Indians.
