Intex Technologies has added another 4G smartphone to its ever-expanding portfolio. The new Intex Aqua View also brings with it what is essentially Intex’s first attempt at a virtual reality product. The Intex Aqua View comes with a Google certified VR cardboard called the Intex Eyelet. Let’s take a closer look at the specifications on the Intex Aqua View.
Specifications – Intex Aqua View
The Intex Aqua View comes with a 5 inch IPS display that has a screen resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels. The phone boasts of a 1 gigahertz quad core MediaTek MT6735P processor alongside a 2 GB RAM. The internal storage on the Intex Aqua View is a standard 16 GB. The storage capacity can be expanded up to 32 GB using a micro SD card slot.
Intex Aqua View comes with a 8 megapixel primary camera which supports LED flash. The secondary camera on the phone is a 5 megapixel unit. Well this may not sound like great camera configuration we must not forget that this configuration is still considered the standard camera configuration on a budget phone.

This is a dual sim phone that supports 4G connectivity. As I have noted several times in previous posts Intex’s current smartphone strategy includes 4G smartphone proliferation. The Intex Aqua View weighs 146 grams which is not bad at all considering its form factor. This phone has a battery capacity of 2200 mAh, which may not impress a lot of people so it remains to be seen whether or not Intex continues to dish out average battery specifications on budget phones.
Intex Aqua View is powered by Android 5.1 Lollipop OS. While it is quite common for budget phones at this point in time to sport Android 5.1 it is worth noting that Intex itself has been pushing for the adoption of Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS. In fact Intex is one of the few smartphone brands in India that has been consistently launching Android 6.0 powered smartphones, even in the entry level smartphone segment.
Intex has joined the VR race
Over the last 6 months or so intex has emerged as arguably the most innovative Indian smartphone brand. Even if you disagree with the previous statement you would have to give Intex credit for embarrassing innovation and trying to come up with products which are unique in their own way and are less like your run of the mill smartphones that everyone else seems to be unleashing.
Whether it is hardware innovation, as in the case of the Intex Aqua Twist, or offering a totally different software product that is neither Android nor iOS, as was the case with the Intex Aqua Fish, intex has been making efforts to offer consumers choices that most other homebred smartphone brands in India are not willing to offer. So it is not surprising to see Intex join what is a rather nascent VR race as of now.
With the new Intex Eyelet, which is essentially an extension of the Google cardboard product, Intex has entered an entirely new product space. The Intex Eyelet will also be compatible with other smartphones. And the best part is that the Intex Eyelet is bundled free with the new Intex Aqua View.
