With respect to the form factor, the iPhone 7 Plus has a strong 7000 Series aluminum build. It has the dimensions – 158.2 x 77.9 x 7.3 mm and weighs 188 grams. The phone looks pretty similar to the iPhone 6s Plus. However, there are some minor changes in the 7 Plus: the antenna lines run along the top and bottom edges, the camera bump is more prominent, and stereo speakers have been incorporated. In addition, the latest iPhone iterations have a brand new home button. This solid-state, pressure sensitive button provides tactile feedback when you press it, thanks to the “Taptic Engine” it works with.
Apple has made a rather bold move by removing the 3.5-mm audio jack from the newest iPhone models. The phones come with Lightning EarPods, and folks who want to go wireless can purchase the AirPods priced at $159 (Rs. 15,400). The smartphones also come with a $9 dongle, which plugs into the Lightning port and acts as an adapter for traditional headphones. One would say this provision is wise (or considerate?) of Apple, but people who love their third-party headphones would still call this a hassle.
Moving on, some of the Internet and connectivity features in the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus are 4G (VoLTE), Wi-Fi 802.11 ac with MIMO, GPS with GLONASS, Bluetooth v4.2, and NFC. As for the sensors, the smartphones incorporate the Touch ID fingerprint sensor, barometer, three-axis gyro, accelerometer, proximity sensor, and ambient light sensor.
The iPhone 7 and 7 Plus have the IP67 rating, which means that they are protected from total dust ingress and can handle immersion for depths ranging between 15 centimeters and 1 meter.

Both the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus are available with two new color options – jet black and (matte) black. The jet black version has a super-glossy finish and is incredibly gorgeous to look at. However, it seems to pick up fingerprints and scratches easily. The smartphone models are also available in the signature gold, rose gold, and silver colors.
As expected, the black variants are a massive hit as they were the first ones to sell out. According to the Slice Intelligence report, the matte black variant has been the most sought-after as it accounted for 46% of the overall sales during the first 48 hours of pre-orders.
