Let’s take a quick glance at the specifications on the Lava Ivory M4 Tablet.
Specifications – Lava Ivory M4
The Lava Ivory M4 has an 8 inch HD IPS display that comes with a 1.3 GHz MediaTek quad core processor. The Tablet is powered by 2 GB RAM and comes with 16 GB internal memory. The Ivory M4 has an 8 megapixel rear camera and a 3.2 megapixel front facing camera.
The Lava Ivory M4 runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop OS. Perhaps the most appealing spec on the Ivory M4 is its battery. The Lava Ivory M4 has a powerful 4000 mAh battery. Lava is known to offer great battery capacity in Tablets, which is certainly a great way to attract eyeballs.
Lava badly needs its Tablet division to succeed
There have been reports of a slump in sales for Lava’s Xolo brand and there are reports that the attrition rate at Xolo has shot up in the last year or so, even though the company denies the latter. These reports do seem to have some truth to them because they also indicate that Lava has fallen to number 5 in the list of top smartphone brands in India.

This means that the company now needs to do something different. If its main smartphone brand isn’t succeeding then Lava needs an alternate solution to the problem. One good alternate is to focus on Tablets under the Lava brand.
Lava has previously launched a few Tablets in the Ivory series and they are all good options for consumers who don’t want to spend too much on an expensive Tablet from a top brand, like Apple or Microsoft, and would still like to experience the best possible hardware quality on offer. Lava is arguably the best Indian brand that offers good quality hardware on Tablets.

Lava also needs its Tablet division to succeed because India needs a homebred brand to succeed in the Tablet division. The country is yet to witness a major homegrown Tablet success story. Even though India has a lot of international options and Micromax is doing well in the smartphone division, Lava is perhaps the only truly Indian brand that has a chance of success in the Tablet sphere given its investments in R&D.
“We see a tremendous potential in the tablet category and Lava has aggressive plans to expand its portfolio in this space. We will launch multiple devices in the next three months to meet the demand and our latest offering Ivory M4 will redefine the benchmarks in terms of features available in less than 10k price segment.”

Some other Tablets from the Lava Ivory series
The Lava Ivory M4 has quite a few companions in the Ivory series. Some of these Ivory series Tablets are the Lava Ivory Xtron Z704 Tablet, the Lava Ivory+ 8 GB Tablet, and the Lava Ivory E Tab Tablet. One common factor that unites most Ivory series Tablets from Lava is their battery capacity. The Ivory Xtron Z704 and the Ivory+ have 4000 mAh batteries.

It seems Lava has been working on making the battery capacity a USP for its Tablet range and I would not be surprised to see Lava unleash a Tablet in the near future that has a mammoth battery capacity at its disposal and is marketed purely on its superior battery capacity.
