LeEco Le 1s Eco

The company which, at the moment, seems to be growing at the rate of a Tesla Model S pre-booking is back in the news again. Or should we say ‘continues to remain in the news’? LeEco has already tasted early success in India with its LeEco Le 1S smartphone and is making heads turn with its foray into the electric car business. Now the company has launched a new phone and a new service for the Indian market.

At a recently concluded event in Mumbai LeEco launched the LeEco Le 1S Eco. The company has also introduced an entertainment streaming service but more on that later. First let’s take a closer look at the latest LeEco phone.

Specifications – LeEco Le 1S Eco

The LeEco Le 1S Eco comes with a 5.5 inch IPS LCD display with a pixel density of 403 ppi. The display gets protection from accidental falls thanks to the Corning Gorilla Glass 3 tech. The display also supports 10-point multi-touch.

In an age where technology has already embraced Virtual Reality and is heading towards Augmented Reality products a 10-point multi-touch suddenly seems like lesser tech. Gone are the days when Apple Inc. could boast of the multi-touch breakthroughs and Tom Cruise would use gloves to multi-touch large displays in Minority Report. Oh boy, are we moving fast!

The Le 1S Eco boasts of a 1.85 GHz Octa Core MediaTek Helio X10 processor alongside a 3 GB RAM. The internal storage on the phone is 32 GB. The primary camera is a 13 megapixel unit with LED flash, full HD video recording and a 5x digital zoom. The secondary camera on the other hand is a 5 megapixel unit good enough to capture your mandatory weekend selfies at the movies.

The dual-SIM phone supports all modern connectivity options including 4G and weighs a mere 170 grams to boot.  The phone is powered by Android 5.0 Lollipop OS. The battery capacity on the LeEco Le 1S Eco is an impressive 3000 mAh. All in all this is a pretty good phone to own for a price of Rs. 9,999.

LeEco introduces India to Supertainment through its streaming service

The LeEco Le 1S Eco comes with a free 1 year content membership. Other than that the company has launched its entertainment streaming services in India and they are calling it LeEco Membership. The service is priced a very reasonable Rs. 490/month.

You may have noticed in the specifications above that the internal storage on the Le 1S Eco is 32 GB but there is no mention of memory expansion. This is because the company is giving every LeEco user 5 TB of digital storage on the LeEco Drive. Another impressive Le 1S Eco feature, as claimed by LeEco, is that you will be able to charge it for 5 minutes and the charge would last for up to 3.5 hours. This feature is called SuperCharge.

It sure appears that LeEco wants you to embrace entertainment of all kinds on your phone, which is probably why they are calling it ‘Supertainment’. Fancy jargon aside there is no doubt that this brand is making heads turn with quality product offerings and is perhaps one of the hottest tech brands to watch out for in the near future.

If you want to get your hands on the new LeEco Le 1S Eco you better gear up for the first flash sale scheduled for May 12, 2016 at 2 pm. The company is expected to release 100,000 units in the first flash sale and judging by how flash sales work these days, you would want to be ready when it happens.
