Chinese smartphone brand LeEco, which has seen a rise in popularity in India with each passing month, has launched a new variant of its much talked about smartphone – LeEco Le Max 2 – for the Chinese market. This new variant is a 128 GB model and with it the company also introduced a Forced Gold colour option for its smartphones.
Here’s a rundown on the specification on this phone.
Specifications – LeEco Le Max 2 128 GB
The Le Max 2 128 GB variant comes with a 5.7 inch display LTPS IPS LCD display, which has a screen resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels. This translates to a pixel density of 515 ppi. The display is protected from any accidental damages thanks to the Corning Gorilla Glass 3 technology.
The phone boasts of a 2.15 GHz Quad Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor alongside an Adreno 530 GPU. This configuration makes the Le Max 2 one of the very best large screen phones in the market today in terms of performance. Add to this mix the 6 GB RAM that comes with this variant and the Le Max 2 becomes an absolute beast of a performer.
As I have already noted, this is a 128 GB internal storage variant. That is top-notch storage capacity for any smartphone. LeEco certainly has an eye on offering high-end specifications to consumers in all of its price segments. Another great spec of the Le Max 2 is the camera.

The phone comes with a 21 megapixel camera with dual-tone LED flash, Phase Detection Autofocus, Close Loop, Auto and Manual focus, HDR, 4K recording, slow motion recording, Optical Image Stabilization, and CMOS sensor. The primary camera on this phone is definitely one of the most powerful cameras going around but it’s secondary isn’t too bad either. The selfie front camera is an 8 megapixel unit with beauty mode and fixed focus.
This is a dual-SIM phone and it has all the modern connectivity options that one would like to see on a modern phone, including 4G connectivity. The dimensions on the phone are 156.8 x 77.6 x 8 mm and it weighs 185 grams. The weight is probably a bit on the higher side even if we consider the Le Max 2’s form factor. Other brands have been able to produce smartphone with similar sizes at lesser weights so maybe there is something LeEco hasn’t perfected yet and should work on in future.
The battery capacity on the LeEco Le Max 2 is 3100 mAh. The battery does support Quick Charge 2.0 so you can charge the phone pretty fast and then expect it to last a good while, however, I am not entirely impressed with the battery capacity of this phone because clearly LeEco can do better than 3100 mAh on what is essentially its flagship phablet. This is more of an expectation than a criticism of the brand which seems to be doing nothing wrong in 2016. Here is hoping future iterations of this great phone will come with an improved battery capacity.

Some other features include a Hall sensor, a Gravity sensor, an infrared sensor, and a fingerprint sensor among other things. The phone also boasts of Type-C USB port, notification LED, and infrared remote. The Le Max 2 is powered by Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS and it uses LeEco’s very own EUI as the user interface.
The phone will be available in three colour options namely, Rose Gold, Grey, and Force Gold. Force Gold is the new colour variant that several other LeEco smartphones will be seen sporting in the near future.
