After months of speculation LeEco has finally launched its latest flagship phone in China. The LeEco Le Pro 3 will go up for its first flash sale next week in China. Here’s a closer look at the specifications on this phone.
Specifications – LeEco Le Pro 3
The LeEco Le Pro 3 has a 5.5 inch display with a screen resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels. This is a 2.5D curved glass display. The phone comes with the most advance mobile processor out there – Snapdragon 821. It is a 2.35 GHz Quad Core processor that will power the Le Pro 3. This comes with an Adreno 530 GPU. Perhaps, the most impressive specification on the Le Pro 3 is that it comes with a mammoth 6 GB RAM. This would put the Le Pro 3 in the same league as some of the best performing smartphones in the world. It wasn’t too long ago that most of us were wondering whether we need a 6 GB RAM on our smartphone. Now it has already started to become a rather familiar spec.

In China the phone will be available in 4 variants. The first being the 6 GB RAM+64 GB internal storage option. The second variant will be a 4 GB RAM+32 GB internal storage option. The other two variants are likely to be exclusive to China as they are being named after legendary Chinese filmmaker Zhang Yimou, better known as the Director of the blockbuster movies such as House of Flying Daggers and Hero. The first Zhang Yimou edition will be a 4 GB RAM+ 64 GB variant while the second will be a 6 GB RAM+ 128 GB internal storage variant. Of course there is a good chance that these two variants will be launched elsewhere, but may carry a different name in other markets.
The primary camera on the Le Pro 3 is a 16 megapixel unit with a Sony IMX298 sensor and Phase Detection Autofocus feature. The secondary camera is an 8 megapixel unit with 76.5 degree wide angle lens. The camera configuration supports dual-tone LED flash.
The Le Pro 3 is a dual SIM (LTE + LTE) phone with support for 4G connectivity and VoLTE. GPS support includes A-GPS and GLONASS. The dimensions on the phone are 151.1 x 74.2 x 7.5 mm. The phone weighs 153 grams. The battery capacity on the Le Pro 3 is a very impressive 4070 mAh. This happens to be one of the few flagships phones in the market with a battery capacity in excess of 4000 mAh. Samsung, HTC, and Xiaomi would do well to take a cue from LeEco.
Other impressive features on the phone include fingerprint sensor and infrared sensor. The battery also has support for Quick Charge 3.0. The LeEco Le Pro 3 is powered by Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS. However, the user interface is LeEco’s very own EUI 5.8, which has garnered much appreciation from customers in the recent past.
Will the LeEco Le Pro 3 have the much anticipated 8 GB variant?
While the flagship product and its variants that have launched in China already have a lot to offer LeEco fans, there is a still a remote possibility that LeEco might launch an 8 GB variant.
Back in June this year we reported that LeEco is working on an 8 GB phone with Snapdragon 821 on-board. As it turns out the LeEco Le Pro 3 might just be that phone. Since we first reported this there have been several reports that suggest that the Le Pro 3 may have an 8 GB variant alongside its 4 GB and 6 GB cousins.
LeEco was actually expected to launch the 8 GB variant yesterday in China but that hasn’t transpired for some reason. Either way LeEco hasn’t denied that it will launch an 8 GB phone or an 8 GB variant to the Le Pro 3. So I suggest we sit tight and wait for what could be the world’s first 8 GB RAM powered smartphone sometime in the not so distant future.
