Let’s take a quick glance at the specifications on the Lenovo Vibe X3.

Specifications – Lenovo Vibe X3

The Lenovo Vibe X3 comes with a 5.5 inch display. It has a 1.2 GHz Hexa Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor along with 3GB RAM. The phone will come in 32GB and 64GB variants expandable up to 128 GB via a microSD card. The Lenovo Vibe X3 also boasts of a hybrid dual-SIM slot and supports 4G connectivity.

The Lenovo Vibe X3 has an extremely powerful camera composition. The phone has a 21 megapixel rear camera with Sony IMX 230 sensor, PDAF, LED flash, and 4K video recording. The front facing camera is an 8 megapixel unit. The device also has an impressive 3600 mAh battery unit.

Lenovo has revealed its plans for the Vibe brand of smartphones

In what is being regarded as a remarkable turn of events, Lenovo has decided to phase out the iconic Motorola brand. Brand Motorola will now be called “Moto by Lenovo” and will serve as Lenovo’s high-end smartphone brand. The Chinese multinational now intends to use the Vibe brand as its budget phone brand. This strategic branding move will further streamline Lenovo’s wide range of smartphone products.

One of Lenovo’s most successful smartphones last year was the Lenovo K3 Note but when Lenovo decided to launch its successor the Lenovo K4 Note earlier this month the company chose to label it with the Vibe brand. This is a clear indication that Lenovo is going with a two-pronged strategy of having popular, publicly distinguishable smartphone brands.

The decision to add a much hyped phone to the Vibe brand and the decision to do away with the mobile industry’s most illustrious brand name is indicative of Lenovo’s willingness to move beyond past laurels and push for newer, more nuanced yet better refined branding strategies.

Expected pricing of the Lenovo Vibe X3

As is the case with most China based brands Lenovo launches its products first in China and then in a other competitive markets, such as India. The Lenovo Vibe X3 has already been launched in China a couple of months ago. The price of the Vibe X3 in China is 2,499 CNY which approximately translates to Rs. 26,000.

Whether the company has plans to launch the Vibe X3 through a direct-to-consumer-only model by partnering with e-commerce channels in India remains to be seen. If it does adopt this model consumers can expect the price to be competitively priced and it could vary in the Rs. 23,000 – Rs. 26,000 range.

However, this is not always the case with Lenovo’s products. Lenovo, much like Samsung, prefers the old school multi-channel distribution model. If this holds true for the Lenovo Vibe X3 then consumers can expect the price of this device to get closer to the Rs. 28,000 – Rs. 30,000 price tag.
