Android 7.0 Nougat is the latest OS from Google and it is true that LG is the first company that offered the latest update out of the box with the OS update in its LG V20 smartphone. With this LG is moving on with updates and this time has started rolling out global software updates for its phone LG G5. The update however will start with South Korea and gradually be made available to other countries.
Update of software roll-out
The company started upgrade of the OS in its LG G5 with its home country South Korea but on Tuesday declared that it has also started the updates on the software for LG G5 for users in America, Asia and many other markets globally. The exact timeframe when the update will actually fall in place was not revealed by the company but it was said that the updates will be made available in coming weeks. The company has asked the users to wait for the update notification in their phones and hence for the OS upgrade. In an e-mail statement by the company they wrote – “Most G5 users will receive notifications on LG’s phones when the update is available. More information will become available locally in the weeks ahead.”
Feature addition and tested trial in home country
The update to Nougat 7.0 was announced for South Korea in August but it was not available publicly but via a preview program to test the upgrade. There were over 2000 applicants chosen by LG to test the early updates and to see if everything goes fine while and after the update. With the updates many features are expected to be included with primary addition of “In apps” features that enables the user to search inside user installed and pre-installed apps. It also would include multi-window feature which enables the user to two apps simultaneously side by side and also switch by twice tapping.
Conclusion
Although a tentative date is not yet give for the updates but the e-mail statement confirms that the update will be made very soon. The new update is now open globally for users across the world and the update will bring new features. Kim Hyung-Jung, Senior VP and Head of Research and Development, LG mobiles said – “Getting software updates to our users faster than the competition is our way of demonstrating that LG is committed to supporting our products and customers to ensure they have a positive ownership experience,”
