As for the platform, the Meizu M3 Max runs on Android v6.0 (Marshmallow) based on the Flyme OS 5.2 operating system. The phablet has a high-capacity 4,100 mAh lithium-polymer battery. It supports fast charging and incorporates a fingerprint scanner as one of the sensors.

The competitors of the Meizu M3 Max include models such as the Lenovo Vibe P1 Turbo, Asus ZenFone Selfie ZD551KL (32 GB), Gionee Elife S6, Sony Xperia ZR, HTC Desire 826, and Oppo N1 Mini.

The Lenovo Vibe P1 Turbo seems to be the closest competitor to the Meizu M3 Max in terms of specs and features. The former has a way superior 4,900 mAh battery and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection for the screen. However, the processor in the Meizu M3 Max is clocked slightly higher than the 1.5 GHz Octa Core processor incorporated in the Lenovo Vibe P1 Turbo. The Meizu M3 Max also has a larger display and the fast charging feature, which the Lenovo Vibe P1 Turbo lacks.
