Meizu Pro 6S bears uncanny similarities to the iPhone 7

It’s not uncommon for an iPhone variant to find a Chinese competitor that bears some sort of resemblance to it. But it’s not everyday that a product bearing an uncanny resemblance to the iPhone is thought of as a serious competitor, albeit a potential rip-off. This is exactly what the Meizu Pro 6S is being considered in some quarters.

In markets like India where the iPhone has seen an increase in demand but continues to be an elusive product for many consumers because of its steep pricing, the Meizu Pro 6S might just be the perfect alternate. The Pro 6S is in itself a good enough product but these comparisons with the iPhone are not doing it any harm.

While the Pro 6S is in no way a total rip-off of the iPhone 7, the similarities are striking. Other than the similarities the Pro 6S has a deca core processor, which is arguably the best processor on an Android phone, in terms of number of cores. And Meizu could well argue that the deca core processor is good enough to compete with Apple’s latest A10 Fusion chip. Whether this is indeed the case or not will remain speculative until someone tries to benchmark the Meizu Pro 6S against the iPhone 7.

Irrespective of the speculations surrounding the similarities with the iPhone 7, the Pro 6S can only gain from these comparisons. This is an Android phone that’s good enough to compete with any other Android phone in benchmarking and performance reviews.

Meizu phones are no strangers to high ranks on Android benchmark scores. Having said that the Pro 6S will not be competing with the iPhone 7 because the price segments are entirely different for these two products. The Pro 6S’s Android competitors will do well to topple Meizu’s deca core processor specs.
