As we reported recently Micromax is on a 4G spree and is doing all it can to push a wide range of 4G smartphones in the Indian smartphone ecosystem. In accordance with its plan to infiltrate the 4G market before 4G even realizes widespread acceptance Micromax has introduced another 4G smartphone in the Canvas series, the Canvas Mega 4G along with the Canvas Mega E353 which was already being sold online. The Canvas Mega E353 is currently available through Flipkart for Rs. 7,290 while the Canvas Mega 4G will reportedly cost Rs. 10,999.

The Micromax Canvas Mega comes with a 5.5 inch HD IPS display. It has a Mediatek MT6592M chipset accompanied by a 1.4 GHz octa-core processor. The phone is powered by a 1 GB RAM and boasts of 8 GB internal memory expandable up to 32 GB via a microSD card slot. Considering the fact that the Canvas Mega E353 is priced just Rs. 7,290 its battery capacity is perhaps a standout in its price range. The battery unit on the Canvas Mega E353 is an extremely impressive 2820 mAh. The phone also has a 13 megapixel front camera and a 5 megapixel front camera to its credit. The Canvas Mega E353 runs Android 5.1 Lollipop OS.

The Micromax Canvas Mega 4G, as the name suggests, is Canvas Mega E353 with 4G capabilities and slightly different specs. The Canvas Mega 4G is a dual-SIM smartphone that comes with the same display and camera specs as the Canvas Mega E353. However, when it comes to the raw specs the Canvas Mega 4G packs a punch. It sports a 1.3 GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6735 processor with 3GB RAM and 16 GB of internal memory expandable up to 32 GB via a microSD card slot.
In what is slowly becoming a characteristic of low-range and mid-range Micromax budget phones, the Canvas Mega 4G also packs a very efficient battery unit of 2500 mAh.
Micromax’s current focus is the Phablet market
It has become increasingly obvious to the tech media that Micromax has been launching a plethora of smartphones with a predefined strategy that they hope will eventually spoil the consumers for choices. Their two-pronged strategy currently seems to be that of pushing 4G phones and Phablets in the market. While this was already apparent to some of us now the company has come out and asserted the same.
