Specifications – OnePlus X Champagne Edition

The specs on the OnePlus Champagne Edition are the same as that on the OnePlus X. While announcing the OnePlus X, the company had stated that the device will be available in 2 variants. The first being the OnePlus X Onyx and the second being the OnePlus X Ceramic. The OnePlus X Champagne Edition is a variant of the OnePlus X Onyx.

The OnePlus X has a 5 inch full HD AMOLED display and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor. The OnePlus X will be powered by a 3 GB RAM and will also boast of 16 GB internal storage that can be expanded up to 128 GB via a microSD card slot. The phone comes with a 13 megapixel rear camera and an 8 megapixel front facing camera. The OnePlus X has a 2525 mAh battery, which is a decent battery configuration for any OnePlus device.

The phone is 4G capable and is powered by the OxygenOS which is based on Android 5.1.1 Lollilop OS.

All variants of the OnePlus X will face stiff competition

The OnePlus X variants are certainly good phones in their price range. However, they will be going against some of the very best smartphones in this hotly contested price segment. The OnePlus X variants, including the OnePlus X Champagne Edition, will be stepping in the ring with the likes of Samsung Galaxy A5 mobile, Lenovo Vibe S1, and the Gionee Marathon M5.

While there are several other phones that are in the same price segment as the OnePlus X, these three smartphones and these three brands in particular will be the main competition for the OnePlus X.

In terms of battery capacity, there isn’t a phone in the market that can hold a candle to the Gionee Marathon M5, for its price segment. The Marathon M5 comes with a staggering 6020 mAh battery. As we have noted often before, Indian consumers tend to focus on the battery life a tad bit more than say European consumers. Keeping that mind it is not hard to see why consumers will not opt for the Marathon M5 over the OnePlus X Variants.

The Lenovo Vibe S1 has a superior performance factor associated with it. The phone comes with an octa-core processor that when coupled with the 3 GB RAM, delivers far more than other devices its price segment can hope for.

To cut the long story short, the OnePlus X variants have an uphill battle against these competitors, but that doesn’t automatically mean that they will lose the race. There is enough space for brands to co-exist in a huge market like India. OnePlus X does have the beautiful design going for it. Despite its mid-range price the phone has a premium look and feel to it, which serves it well.
