The primary camera on the Oppo R9 is a 13 megapixel unit with LED flash and auto focus. However, the Oppo R9 is unique in the sense that its secondary camera is being touted as its USP. The phone brags of a 16 megapixel secondary camera. This camera is the reason why the Oppo R9 is being billed as the “selfie-expert”. Here is a tweet sent out by Oppo Mobile India claiming the same.

The battery capacity of the Oppo R9 is a decent 2850 mAh. The dual SIM phone does support all standard connectivity options including 4G. The Oppo R9 is powered by Android 5.1 Lollipop OS.
The Bigger Cousin of the Oppo R9 is also a quality phone
Alongside the Oppo R9, the Chinese multinational will also unveil its bigger cousin – the Oppo R9 Plus. The specs on the two phones vary only in a few departments. As you would expect the Oppo R9 Plus has a slightly bigger display; it boasts of a 6 inch AMOLED display. The processor specs change to 1.8 GHz Octa Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 652, while the GPU on the Oppo R9 Plus is the Adreno 510.
Interestingly, the Oppo R9 Plus has 16 megapixel camera unit as both its primary and secondary cameras. Why the primary camera got a push in the R9 Plus is anybody’s guess but changing it from a 13 megapixel camera on the R9 to a 16 megapixel camera on the R9 Plus suggests Oppo wanted to protect the R9’s “selfie expert” tag when it could have easily pushed the primary camera specs on the R9 Plus by a few more notches.

When it’s all said and done one can’t deny the fact that the Oppo R9 Plus is also a quality product and just like its lightweight variant, the R9 Plus is out to impress an equal number of camera enthusiasts as the R9.
