PS4 Pro in comparison to PS4 gives worse performance in some aspects

Last week the much awaited PlayStation 4 pro was launched as the upgraded variant to give better performance than its variant PS4. As per reports it was found that the newly launched PS4 Pro Enhanced is not doing that great in comparison to PS4. The games available on PS4 Pro Enhanced are reported to be giving worst performance.

Issues related to PS4 Pro

Some games available or played on PS4 Pro are not doing well and some are giving as usual performance as it should give on 4K and HDR on getting the settings of the TV right. In case you are using 1080p screen in many cases it was seen that some games are falling short of the correct frame that is offered by the PS4 regular. The worse performing in the newly launch version are The Last of US, Watch Dogs 2 and Skyrim.

Problems faced by few games.

It was found that while playing “The Last of Us” it could not deliver appropriately even 60fps but in case of PS4 it was able to do so. In case of playing Skyrim the frame rate drops down while it shows no problem in PS4. In case of Watch Dogs 2 which is played at 30fps has no issues with the visuals while playing on PS4 Pro but gives problem related to tearing of frame and shows frame rate issues which is not seen in case of PS4. But it was also found that performance of some games was better in PS4 Pro in some aspects. Most of the games faced problem with multiple frame dropping in PS4 Pro that was not seen in the PS4.

Conclusion

Most of the problems in PS4 Pro is related to frame rate which happens to be important aspect of games rather than visual improvements. There is lot of resolution problem in the new launch. Sony launched the PS4 PRO Enhanced in order to either meet or exceed the frame rates that was provided by the previously launched regular PS4. Speculating about the issue with problems related to frame rates, Sony responded to Eurogamer’s – ““We are aware of the issue and currently investigating.” Sony is trying to find a solution to the problem and hopefully will be out with one soon so that PS4 Pro works well with all the games.
