Samsung Galaxy S8 to be rumoured to have Optical Fingerprint Sensor launched by Synaptics

2017 is expected to see lot of great smartphones equipped with rich and vibrant features. Bezel less smartphone was released by Xiaomi with Mi MIX. In 2017 Samsung Galaxy S8 is tipped to have bezel-less OLED display and with this the phone is expected with thinner bezels. Synaptics launches Optical Fingerprint Sensor and started with launch FS9100 optical fingerprint scanner. It was confirmed by Synaptics that FS9100 optical fingerprint sensors are to be out for sampling in first quarter of 2017 with second quarter starting its mass production. It is tipped that during MWC 2017 the optical fingerprint sensor is to make an entrance with Galaxy S8 for the first time.

Synaptic launched its first Optical Fingerprint Scanner

Synaptics launched its first Optical Fingerprint Scanner on 13th December and as claimed by the company it will be the first optical scanner for smartphones and tablets. The scanner will be able to scan through 1mm of glass inclusive of button free design. The new optical fingerprint scanner will include 2.5D glass under cover glass and will not take space on the front panel. There will be lot of changes in terms of features in smartphones and tablets by including the optical sensor designed by Synaptics.

FS9100 Optical Sensor by Synaptics

FS9100 optical sensor is designed and manufactured by Synaptics and was unveiled as the first optical scanner for Samsung phones. With the use of this sensor a physical button for fingerprint scanner will be opted out. This will also not require any sort of glass thinning as required when capacitive fingerprint sensor was used. There are many great features of the sensor and according to news it is durable, water –resistant and scratchproof. It can be used even with wet finger without compromise on the quality. The power consumption is reduced by use of this sensor.
