Samsung India declares to offer free Gear VR: Customers who pre-booked Galaxy Note 7 to get benefits for delay in shipment

Samsung declared to compensate the customers who had pre-booked Samsung Galaxy Note 7 with Samsung Gear VR. This is offered for the unexpected delay in shipping of Samsung Galaxy Note 7. Samsung would be offering the Gear VR without charging any extra along the headset when Samsung Galaxy 7 is shipped.

• Samsung India had offered new Gear VR with a discount to the customers who had pre-booked Galaxy Note 7. This was declared as the pre-booking incentive for the customers.

• The Gear VR was priced Rs 7, 290 which the customers with pre-booking got a discount of Rs 1,990. The customers who had done pre-booking would have also got Oculus store voucher worth $50 which roughly is around Rs.3,300.

• Samsung declared unexpected delay of shipments due to the explosion issue reports with Samsung Galaxy Note 7.

Why there was a Delay?

Samsung had declared delay in sales until it found out the cause of issues. The mobile giant found fault in the battery of Galaxy Note 7 which was the cause of fire hazards. Samsung issued a global recall of Galaxy Note 7 for the battery cell issues. Samsung officials released a statement regarding this issue to apologize the customers for the inconvenience.
