What makes the Nexian NV-45 stand out from the rest of the brigade of low-end smartphones is that this is not a device by a local player. Nexian was an Indonesian brand which was acquired by the Spice Group in a few years ago. Now Spice Mobile wants to leverage upon Nexian’s international presence to introduce devices which might serve one regional market more than it serves others, but it will give Spice Mobile’s foot in the door as far as being recognized as an international mobile brand is concerned.
Specifications – Nexian NV-45
The Nexian NV-45 comes with a 4.5 inch display with Dragon Trail glass. It is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor and a 1 GB DDR3 RAM. The phone has 8 GB of internal storage, which is expandable up to 32 GB via a memory card. When it comes to the camera units, the Nexian NV-45 has a 5 megapixel rear camera with dual-LED flash and a 3.2 megapixel front camera. The device offers 3G connectivity and boasts of a 1650 mAh battery unit. As is generally the case with current generation low-end smartphones and Tablets, the Nexian NV-45 runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat) OS.
Can Nexian survive in what is already a rather saturated Indian smartphone market?
While it is correct to say that the Indian smartphone market is already a rather saturated market to enter, it would be incorrect to assume that a new brand will fail only because of the wide range of options available to the consumers. Greater options for consumers does not automatically mean lesser opportunities for new mobile brands.

It remains to be seen whether Nexian can have an impact in the long run but they have certainly chosen a market segment that is not heavy on quality mobile devices. So it all boils down to whether Nexian can offer a quality product relative to other devices in its price range.
Who is Nexian competing against in India?
As we have already noted, Nexian has started its journey in India with a low-end smartphone and it remains to be seen whether the company decides to release its upcoming products in the same price segment or whether they choose to diversify like some of their competitors.
