Videocon’s current smartphone focus seems to be 4G

Like a number of Indian smartphone brands, it seems Videocon has also decided to keep an eye out for the future. It was towards the end of 2015 when Videocon launched the Infinium Z55 Krypton, which was the company’s first 4G phone in the Indian market.

Now with the Krypton V50FG and a few other smartphones that are scheduled to be released later this year Videocon has made its intentions known. The focus is now on 4G products.

Videocon’s smartphone efforts have only just begun

Videocon has been a very reliable consumer electronics brand in India and certainly has the trust of the Indian consumers at large so when the company decided to test the waters and enter the smartphone space very few skeptics had doubted that move. It is important to note that while Videocon doesn’t have a thriving software business of its own the company has managed to deliver a unique Android experience on its phones through careful tweaks.

Videocon may or may not be able to push the innovation envelope in smartphone hardware design in the near future but there is no doubt that starting with the Infinium Z55 Krypton Videocon has managed to impress one and all with some quality hardware specs and design on its phones.

Now it remains to be seen whether the company takes the Intex route and partners with some quality system software licensing partners to deliver a new experience to consumers or whether they have the Micromax approach of dishing out Android phones by the dozen every quarter in mind.

No matter what unfolds at Videocon offices one thing is for sure, given their brand presence in India surely some  Videocon loyalists will line up to try out smartphones from the company before they pass a verdict.
