This is a major boost for Videocon’s Infinium range of smartphones
Videocon began the year 2015 by adding 4 brand new smartphones to its Infinium line of phones. Back then the company had added the Videocon Infinium Z40 Lite+, the Videocon Infinium Z50Q Lite, the Videocon Infinium Z50Q Star, and the Videocon Infinium Zest Lite to this range. While all of these phones were dual-SIM phones they weren’t what would now be called a modern budget-phone.

The Infinium Z55 Krypton adds a lot more than just the specs to the Infinium range. With the launch of this device Videocon can now boast of a quality 4G smartphone with good specs for its price, something that was missing from its ranks earlier.
Also, the much improved camera specs are something Videocon can now be proud of. Most of its previous phones lacked quality camera specs so this would count as a welcome change. Videocon Telecom’s CEO, Jerold Pereira also points this out.
“The newly launched Z55 Krypton is a best value smart device for emerging youth consumers who want to upgrade to a more fast and powerful smartphone with 4G connectivity, extended memory and brilliant camera capabilities.”
–Â Jerold Pereira, CEO, Videocon Telecom
A much needed impetus for the Videocon consumer electronics business
Videocon Industries is a global conglomerate and holds the distinction of being the third largest manufacturer of picture tubes in the world, but the company’s consumer electronics business has been very successful in India. The company has been known to sells quality colour televisions, air conditioners, refrigerators, and washing machines so when it launched its mobile phone division in 2009 much was expected of it.

It is fair to say that the company hasn’t been able to deliver as much as it would have liked to through its mobile phone division in the last 6 years but it has certainly made slow and steady progress. Now with the launch of its first 4G device not only will the Videocon mobile division get a push forward but its consumer electronics products stand to benefit if its smartphone range begins to rake in some healthy numbers.
