Google held its annual developer I/O conference in May and was the launchpad for the Mi Box powered by Android TV. Xiaomi is an Chinese manufacturer which started with smartphone and gradually moved to its Mi Box with Android support. It has recently kickstarted the sale of its Mi Box in US as listed on the company website and is priced at $69(roughly Rs 4,600).

• It is backed by an inbuilt memory of 2GB RAM for superior storages and comes with an internal memory of 8GB ROM.
• The Mi Box has great connectivity options with support for Bluetooth and has an active remote for enabling Bluetooth. The remote also helps in activating voice search.
Advantage of being cost effective:
Chromecast is another product launched by Google but it is evident that due to high cost related to Android TV, the popularity is not much. The best part of Xiaomi is that standalone Android powered Mi Box is available at very affordable price and gives one the luxury of streaming 4K video content and user friendly access. There are many other apps and services which can be accessed or streamed through the Mi Box. The sound system of Dolby Digital Plus and DTS Surround Sound gives it an upper hand and offers great TV connectivity through its HDMI 2.0a cables through HDMI technology.

The Mi box is currently only launched in US but no information about its launch or sale in any other country has been so far announced. The box supports HDR10 standard technology that takes care of the contrast, brightness and colour and produce images that are sharp and crystal clear.
