Xolo, which is part of Lava International, has announced a new low-budget phone for the Indian market. The company is introducing the Xolo One HD. Xolo recently announced a 3 GB version of the Xolo Black. The Xolo Black 3 GB went on sale from December 29. Announcing two new devices in such a sort span of time is not something Xolo is known for but clearly the company is stepping up its operations.

Let’s take a quick glance at the specifications on the Xolo One HD.
Specifications – Xolo One HD
While looking at the specs it is important to keep in mind that this is an entry level phone, priced at Rs. 4,777. The phone has a 5 inch HD IPS display, a 1.3 GHz MediaTek MT6580M quad-core processor, and Mali 400MP2 graphic support. The Xolo One HD has 1 GB RAM and an 8 GB internal storage, both of which are pretty modest configurations, even at that price. The good news is that the internal storage can be expanded up to 32 GB via a microSD card slot.
The Xolo One HD has an 8 megapixel rear camera with LED flash and 5 megapixel front facing camera that also supports LED flash and will certainly impress selfie fans.

Interestingly, the Xolo One HD does not support 4G connectivity. The phone only supports 3G bands. This is a dual-SIM phone and has a battery capacity of 2300 mAh. It is powered by Android 5.0 Lollipop OS.
How does the competition of the Xolo One HD fare in this price segment?
As is the case with most Xolo phones, the Xolo One HD is a good looking phone, however, consumers at all price segments demand better options. Once a device enters the market it is not competing to outperform its own previous builds, the focus shifts to what is on offer from competitors and this is where the Xolo One HD might face the heat in the weeks to come.

As mentioned earlier the Xolo One HD does not support 4G connectivity, which is a little bit of a downer for consumers who may actually be interested in buying Xolo phones in that price range. This is because there are other options available to consumers. A good example is a phone in the Xolo One HD’s price range – the Lenovo A1000. This device does offer 4G connectivity. To top that Micromax is offering a ton of 4G options to consumers in all price segments.

Looking at the sheer number of options available to consumers who might want to buy a phone in the Rs. 4500-Rs. 5,000 price range, it is evident that the Xolo One HD will do very well to outperform its competitors. As of now I don’t see that happening. But Xolo did upgrade its Xolo Black smartphone from a 2 GB model to a 3 GB model, so we know that Xolo doesn’t mind tweaking with specifications even after launching a device, if the consumer demand requires it to do so.
