Some companies have marked the industry with new and trendy tablets and one of them is iBall. iBall has traveled hard and fast in its achievements and efforts and the result is something buyers appreciate and buy because it has very good specifications and a very good design. They range from some expensive and heavily configured to lightly configured tablets and regardless of the design or model they are always made to perform well.
The tablet iBall Slide 2G 7236 was released in January 2014 and the specifications for it are a bit outdated such as Dual Core Processor or a low built-in memory. It allows for dual SIM as well.
Features & Specifications
The tablet has a good display and slim design on which a 1.3 GHz dual core processor runs. There are slots at the base of the cover which can hold two SIMs for multiple GSM or network coverage. These SIMs can have 3G connectivity as well. There is a phone calling function using a built-in ear piece and 3G connectivity.
The OS is Android and this particular device uses Android version 4.2 which is called Jelly Bean. There is a 2MP rear camera and a 7 inch display screen. For the best part the device has been upgraded to 4.4.2 version of Android which is called the KitKat.
Design and Quality
The design is good and it is an ultra slim tablet that has a metal housing. The display screen is 7 inches and the full capacitive multi touch screen shows a result of 480 x 800 pixels which is not that good but since the camera is not that high resolution it is an expected result.
It is available in a very neat and stylish black or a sophisticated grey. The design is attractive enough and it is a plus for this tablet because the specifications themselves are a bit lower. The total dimensions for the tablet are 192.8 x 107.8 x 9.10 mm and the phone is light enough. It is good to hold and is user friendly with a weight of just 264 grams.
The quality of display is good and the touch is sensitive so users can easily use it.
OS and Tech
The operating system was at the start not the latest version but it showed good performance. They started with Android version 4.2 Jelly Bean and then it was later on upgraded. Android version 4.4.2 KitKat is a fast OS especially given the 1.3 GHz dual core cortex A8 processor. Together they allow better performance for the user.
There are dual SIMs available in the tablet and both can have stand by and be connected to 2G or be used for phone-calling.
Other than that Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, EDGE, GPRS and for navigation purposes GPS and AGPS are available.
USB OTG function and micro USB port allow transfer of data.
Camera and Multimedia
The camera is 2MP which operates LED flash. This is the rear camera which is just normal at capturing images. The front camera is specifically for video chatting and has VGA recording format.
Documents can be viewed, emails can be sent and files can be shared over networks or Bluetooth. Many games, applications, videos and audio files can be easily played and also. As the tablet has a USB OTG function the mini ports USB comes in very handy for both charging and data transfer. Battery and Memory
The battery is just 2500 mAh which is low when it comes to general tablets. The tablet however does not play heavy applications thus it can be easily used.
The RAM is 512 MB which makes processing slightly slow and the built in memory is merely 4 GB which is not that much but that can be extended to 32 GB using a micro-SD card.

Karbonn A34 HD is a solid competitor for this tablet. Other tablets in the Slide series including iBall Slide WQ32 are also good competitors. The iBall Slide 2G 7236 is a very good tablet because it gives a good overall performance in a reasonable price range and the expandable storage is good.
