Xiaomi Mi Pad Tablet Price in India
Among the twin Xioami released last year, the Mi Pad and the Redmi 2, the Mi Pad offers a lot of multimedia-oriented features and applications, and charges quite a reasonable price for all that it offers. However, there is no provision for 3G or cellular connection in this tablet. It appears that the makers wish to focus all of their concentration on creating a powerhouse of entertainment-based apps, leaving little room for anything else.
Features and Specifications
A very powerful Quad Core 2.2 GHz processor drives the tablet, and a stunning 2GB RAM ensures that the short-term memory always lives upto its standard with no margin for error. Internet services, however, can be availed of through Wi-Fi 802.11, dual band, WiFi Direct and hotspots. The WiFi connection enables the usual messaging services of Email, Instant Messaging and Push Mail via HTML 5 type of Browser. Connectivity can be achieved through Bluetooth v4.0, and microUSB 2.0 along with an USB Host. Both of the cameras, the 8 MP rear one and the 5MP front camera produce astonishingly crystal clear quality of photos. The 6700mAh battery provides unbelievably high power for running several applications at once without fearing that the battery might die out at any instant.
Design and Quality
The extremely slim frame and glossy screen are absolutely perfect in each and every way. The dimensions are 135.40 x 202.10 x 8.50 mm with a 7.9” IPS LCD multi-touch capacitive touchscreen in a staggering 16M colours. The screen remains protected from wear and tear with the help of a Corning Gorilla Glass 3, and the resolution is a jaw-dropping 1536x2048pixels with 324ppi pixel density. The user can scroll through images and watch movies or streaming videos in perfect HD clarity, a feat rarely achieved in any tablet. There is a microSD port on the side of the phone, through which an appropriate card can be slotted through in order to amp the internal memory upto 128 GB.
OS and Tech
The device powers on Android OS v4.4 KitKat, and is run by a Quad Core 2.2 GHz Cortex A15 CPU with Nvidia Tegra K1 chipset, handsomely complemented by a 192 core ULP GeForce Kepler graphics processing unit. A 2GB RAM keeps all applications running smoothly and without any unwanted interruptions to keep the short term memory busy. The internal memory is rated at be a cool 16GB but can be ratcheted up to 128 GB via micro-SD card.
Camera and Multimedia
The two cameras both front and back, are irreproachable in terms of picture or video recording quality. The primary camera is 8MP and has an incredibly high resolution, and allows 1080p video recording, which is a marvelous feat for a tablet. The front camera with 5MP too is unusually fine for taking selfies. Among the entertainment-based features are the Video Player that plays videos in MP4 and H.26 format, and the Audio Player which supports MP3, WAV and eAAC type of audio files. The tablet consists of a high-class photo and video editor. Business presentations can be arranged at one’s fingertips with the help of the Document Viewer. All of the entertainment material, be it songs or videos, is supplemented by a 3.5mm headphone jack and a pair of stereo speakers.
Battery and Memory
The Li-Po battery is rated at 6700mAh and the battery life is one of the most unreal among Android tablets. One can play unlimited music for about 86 hours without battery expiration. Also, there is provision for 11 hours of uninterrupted talk time even with multimedia playing. The 16GB internal memory is more than ample for storing audio, video images, but has the option of being converted to 128 GB via micro-SD.

Verdict
The Mi Pad’s features are absolutely spellbinding in their originality, and ingenious in their design and execution. When compared with the much pricier Nexus 9, which has Android Lollipop and LED camera flash, but a poorer front camera resolution and no 128GB microSD slot, the Xioami Mi Pad seems an absolute godsend. The absence of a SIM card 3G or voice calling detracts not a single feature from praise. The tablet’s design is sure to leave one speechless in wonder.
