The smartphone was launched on and released on February 2013. Having a starting range of key specifications such as 1 GHz processor and android version of 2.3 GINGERBREAD. External memory support is up to 16 GB via MicroSD card. The processor is a let-down here, but there is too much to expect at the price range for which Micromax Bolt A35 is being sold.
The processor comes coupled with 256 MB ram and a Mali-400 MP graphic card.
The Camera features of the phone are poor, only offering 2 MP main camera and 0.30 MP front camera. Both the camera can be taken as non-existent as they do not provide any benefit other than the presence.
The battery of the smartphone is good and has a capacity of 1500 mAh, Li-on.
The display of the phone is quite rich and sharp. Supporting a screen size of 4.0 inches and a resolution of 400*800 pixels, the device is pretty mind blowing. The Pixel density of the display is quite huge compared to the 4 inch screen which is approx 233 pixels per inch.

Rear placed speakers are pretty loud gives the users a delightful music experience. Almost all audio types such as MP3, WAV etc. are all supported in this phone. 3.5 mm audio jack panel is present on the top of the device.

The device runs on an outdated version of Android version 2.3 which is named as Gingerbread. The CPU is clocked at 1 GHz only, which is well balanced as compared to its other specifications. Features like Wi-Fi, hotspot, Bluetooth 2.0, Fm Radio and USB functions come pre-equipped with this phone.
The device supports advanced features like thread-view SMS, MMS, and Email and push Email services along with Instant Messaging are also available. HTML browser runs quite good in this phone. Good thing that the phone has JAVA supports via JAVA MIDP emulator.

Camera support of this phone is limited up to 2MP only, with 1600*1200 pixels. Though having lower megapixels the camera shoots decent pictures under bright light, but the quality decreases under low light conditions.
Presence of the secondary camera on the top front of this device is not detected.
