Gionee Elife E3 Mobile Price List in India

India mobile market has recently being flooded by Chinese brands and most of them looks promising. The new entry in the block is Gionee. They recently released mid-range budget phone Gionee Elife E3. The phone mainly targets the mid-range segment. The other brands in the market are giving Gionee a tough competition, but Gionee should concentrate on quality and user experience. Gionee Elife E3 does not qualify as a phablet because of its 4.7 inch screen. The size fits well in one hand and the 7.9mm frame make it much easier to carry around without bulky feeling.

Features and Specifications

The phone comes with a 4.7 inch HD screen. The screen is IPS with a maximum resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. The phone is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core MT6589 MediaTek processor and the graphics processor is PowerVR Series5XT GPU. The phone camera is a decent one, featuring 8 megapixels on the rear and 2 megapixels on the front. The phone offers decent memory. It comes with 1 GB of internal RAM. On the other hand, the internal storage of the phone is 16 GB. The phone also offers micro SD slot so that the memory can be expanded further. The battery of the phone is decent 1800 mAh. The network qualities of the phone are good, offering Wi-Fi, 3G Connectivity and Bluetooth 4.0. The phone also comes with dual-SIM features and the greatest advantage of this dual-SIM feature is that one of the SIM slots is micro-SIM and the other is mini SIM slot.

Design and Quality

As mentioned before, the phone is only 7.99mm thick making it fit perfectly in the hands of the user. The screen is 4.7 inches and qualifies just fine for the mid-range budget. The size of the phone makes sure that it fits in one-hand without any problems. The phone is released in four colors- Black, White, Blue and Pink. The front end of the phone is dominated by the color of the phone. The front end of the phone offers 3 captive buttons just like any other phone; the Menu, Back, and Home button.  Sensors and speaker is present on the top front end part of the phone. It also features 2 MP camera. The right side of the phone has two buttons; the volume key and the screen lock key. The color of the keys is same as the color of the phone. As usual, the phone offers two ports at the top of the phone; the 3.5 mm headset jack and the micro-USB port.  The back of the phone has 8mp camera with flash.

OS and Tech

The phone is loaded with Android 4.2.1 (Jelly Bean). On top of the User-Interface, the phone uses Nova skin that offers lots of customization to the users. The users can change any aspect of the theme such as menu, stock icons, phone dialer etc. The OS provides all the latest android functionality but due to processor and ram issues, the experience is hampered to certain extent. There are tons of apps present within the OS and 3rd party apps can also be used.

Camera and Multimedia

The multimedia aspect of the phone is strong. The phone features good sound quality and video playback. The headphones provided are also of good quality. The video playback is right-on and the phone can easily handle 1080p files. The phone supports both famous audio and video formats. In audio category, it supports MP3, WMA, AAC, whereas in video category, it supports H.264, H.263, RV, 3GP and MPEG4. 

The rear 8 MP camera is of decent quality and can perform well in well-lit areas. The down side is that the camera fails to pick up good quality photographs in low-lit areas. On the other hand, video recording can be done at 720p with 30 fps. The video quality captured by the phone is also of decent quality. One downside of the phone is that it uses dated 3GP encoder for encoding the videos.

Battery and Memory

Gionee Elife E3 is powered by 1800 mAh battery. The battery of the phone is not great and lasts only a day for heavy users. For light to medium users, the battery can last one and a half day. The memory of the phone is 16 GB internal, which is quite good to start with. The phone also offers micro SD slot for increasing memory capacity when needed. Overall, the battery could have been much better.

Verdict

Gionee Elife E3 is a good mid-range phone but fails in many key features such as battery and camera. Other features do justify the price tag for which it is been sold in the market. The good aspects of the phone are its light weight and 7.9 mm thickness. The phone also provides a great display. Overall, a good phone for the price it is being sold.
