Indian smartphone manufacturer Spice in collaboration with its Chinese counterpart Coolpad has recently launched a new smartphone in the market. This new product is known as Spice Coolpad2 Mi 496 which aims to fulfil all the requirements of an average user. Spice as we know has been coming up with several new launches but hasn’t been as successful as the other competitors. The phones by the company are aimed at budget customers and come with decent specifications. Both companies are quite optimistic regarding the prospect of this product and are leaving no stone unturned for its publicity maximisation.

The smartphone comes with a 4.5 inch capacitive TFT LCD touchscreen with a display resolution of 960 x 540 pixels.It works on dual SIM system of GSM only. It alsosupports 3G internet connectivity besides coming with basic connectivity options like Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity. The phone comes with a removable battery and consists of rear camera of 5megapixels. Another speciality of this smartphone is the availability of XHTML connectivity. The smartphone is comprised of sensors like Light sensor, Ambient sensor, Proximity sensor and g-sensor to regulate and adjust its functioning in response to any particular situation.

The smartphone is available in white colour and company has made sure the phone looks above average in terms of looks and design.Build quality of the device seems to be average and considering the range it is presented within, the company has done a decent job. The device consists of 5 megapixel rear camera with LED flash and there is no secondary camera. It comes with basic camera options and the images in broad daylight appear to be decent. However, low light images could appear blur which is something one might not be complaining about considering the price it is offered at. The smartphone within the range of Rs. 5000-6000 and can offer stiff competition to products like Sony Xperia E1, Nokia X2 Dual SIM and many more. It is definitely a product which would be a good option for the first time smartphone users or budget friendly customers. However, there are too many options which has flooded this segment and Spice being a lesser known brand could face a huge task for making this a popular product in its category.
