Features and Specifications

The weight of the phone is 172g supporting MicroSIM. The size of the screen is 5.5-inch of type IPS LCD Plus capacitive touchscreen which is full HD and offers 16M colors. The resolution of the screen is 1080x1920p and the protection to the screen has been provided by the corning gorilla glass 2. OS in here is Android v4.1.2 Jelly Beans which can be upgraded to KitKat as per plans of the company. The processor is 1.7GHz Quad-core while the RAM is 2GB. The internal built-in storage comes in two variations either 16GB or 32GB both of which can be expanded further up to 64GB with the help of microSD card. The rear camera is 13MP with an LED flash light and features such as geo tagging, panorama, face detection, autofocus, HDR while the front camera is 1.2MP. Battery in here is 3140mAh Li-ion and the connectivity options are FM radio, microUSB, NFC, GPS, Bluetooth, A-GPS, GSM/LTE and Wi-Fi.

Design and Quality

The design of the device is not similar to its other younger siblings rather it looks more like Galaxy note 2. It is longer and is comfortable in holding. The screen is best among the LG devices and the viewing angles of the screen are also excellent. Two capacitive buttons are located at the bottom of the screen while one physical button for home. The body of the phone is mostly plastic while there is faux chrome at the sides. The power button and the volume rocker are comfortably placed at the left hand side. The back of the device can be removable which has a design similar to Nexus 4. The rear camera is placed at the back with an LED light and speaker. Removing the back cover would reveal the removable battery along with slots for microSD card and MicroSIM card. This is a good looking device indeed.

OS and Tech

The device is running Android v4.1.2 Jelly Beans and above it is Optimus UI. The OS though is not very latest but it works fine for the phone and produces decent performance with the support of the processor and the RAM. The multitasking is also quite fast enough.

Camera and Multimedia

The 13MP rear camera is not very impressive. The images generated by this camera lack details. Under good light, the images generated are even not much impressive while under low light the results get worse. The videos recorded by this camera suffer the similar issue and the clarity of the videos is missing along with having noise and blurriness. The front camera is of very low capacity but works enough for the selfies and the video calls.

Battery and Memory

The battery is decent enough. It actually lasts for 8hrs under heavy use and this has been proved in tests. So the battery life is moderate. Due to having power saving mode, the battery can further be lasted for longer durations. Under moderate use, the battery is capable of running for more than 24hrs.

Verdict

This is no doubt an impressive device having decent features and an upgraded option for the OS. The feel of the device is similar to that of Xperia Z and Galaxy Note 2 and this can work decently in market and can be a threat to these devices. This is no doubt a nice invention in the era of Nexus 4. This is expensively priced device while at little price the Galaxy S4 is available. Looking for larger screen at much lower price, the Galaxy Note 2 is then much better option.
