BlackBerry Q5 Mobile Price in India
This is an important device which was launched by BlackBerry in 2013. Q10 and Z10 both were designed for diehards and smartphone lovers. This is actually the third in line of BlackBerry 10 series and the second one who has a physical keyboard. This is available in many colors including pink, red, white and black. This is an affordable device as compared to BlackBerry Z10 and BlackBerry Q10. Though this is considerably expensive to other devices but due to peculiar BlackBerry design, this has gained attention from the gadget lovers in the market and is working quite decently.
Features and Specifications
The weight of this smartphone is 120g and has a QWERTY keyboard supporting MicroSIM. The size of its screen is 3.1-inch made up of IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen offering 16M colors with resolution of 720x720p. It also offers multi-touch. OS in it is BlackBerry OS 10.2 which can be upgradable to v10.3.1 while the CPU here is 1.2GHz dual core. RAM is 2GB while the built-in storage is 8GB but can be expanded further up to 32GB using microSD card. The front camera is 5MB with an LED light and features like autofocus, touch focus, geo tagging, HDR, face detection and panorama. The front camera is 2MP used for the selfies which can also record videos at 720p. Battery here is 2180mAh Li-ion which is non-removable while the connectivity features here include microUSB, FM radio, Wi-Fi, NFC, Bluetooth, GPS, GSM/LTE and A-GPS.
Design and Quality
This is not at a premium device having quite sizeable bezels below and above screen. There is plastic below the keyboard. The plastic body of the device is very much noticeable though it feels quite solid but due to the glossy matte plastic at the back make it little odd. The weight of the device is not much. The company claims that this device is designed keeping in view the young generation who uses their smartphones to share things like connecting with friends. The microSD card slot and MicroSIM slots are found under flip cover towards left side. towards the top is the headset jack and the power button but this power button is made up of plastic while in Z10 and Q10 it was made up of metal. Towards right is the volume rocker.
OS and Tech
The BlackBerry v10.2 has been installed in this handset which is very different from the previous OS versions of BlackBerry. This OS is quite quick and the multitasking is also quite fast. There is good support of RAM and processor to this OS which also make its performance much decent.
Camera and Multimedia
5MP camera is towards the back with an LED flash. The camera is not as good as those provided to its rivals like Motorola Razr and Sony Xperia SP. The front camera is good for selfies which can also record videos. The app for the camera can be easily accessed from screen. The camera shutter is quite quick and takes images promptly. Though taking picture with this app is quite annoying. The sound of the shutter is another annoying factor. The clarity of the images taken by this camera is quite decent. So overall this is if not very good camera but not bad also and is suitable for moderate photography.
Battery and Memory
2180mAh battery has been provided to it but it cannot be removed as in the case of Q10 and Z10. Under heavy use, this device requires recharging once in a day but under normal or moderate use, this lasts for whole day. 2GB RAM is decent enough in this device which provides good boost to the OS but the internal 8GB storage is though less but since this can be expanded up to 32GB so the expansion is decent.
Pros and Cons
For Pros:
· It has 4G connectivity feature
· It offers faster web browsing
· Expandable memory
For Cons:
· Heavy plastic body
· Battery is non-removable
· Keyboard is quite average
· Screen size is little awkward
Verdict
This device is little odd and may not be loved by many. Though it has all the features which are required in a smartphone but there is no department in which it has excelled from its competitors. Web browsing is exciting in this device but the 3.1inch size of the screen reduces this excitement. This device is for those people who cannot afford Q10. Little enhancement from the company is required in this device so that this can be in the competition not only with its own successors but also with other brands. It been about 2 years by now that this device has been released in the market but still there is a long way to go for this device in order to attain attention of the masses and that can be only possible if few modifications are made in it.
