The weight of this device is 208g and supports MicroSIM. The screen is 4.3-inch large made up of Super AMOLED touchscreen providing 16M colors. The screen resolution is 540x690p and also supports multi-touch. The screen has also been given protection with corning gorilla glass 3. OS in this device is Android v4.2.2 Jelly Beans which is upgradable to v4.4.2 KitKat while the processor in it is 1.5GHz dual core. RAM is 1.5GB while the internal storage is 8GB which can be expanded further up to 64GB using microSD card. Two cameras are there. The rear one is 16MP having high 4608x3456p with 10x optical zoom capacity and many features like autofocus, Xenon flash and optical image stabilization. The front camera is 1.9MP and is used for the video calls and selfies. Battery is 2330mAh Li-ion and the connectivity features in it are Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, A-GPS, NFC, microUSB and GSM/LTE.

Design and Quality

The same design principle has been followed in this device as it was in Samsung Galaxy S4. Its body is plastic and this gives the device a shiny and glossy look. This device doesn’t feel nice while in hand as it feels while holding iPhone 5 and HTC One. The camera in the phone has the same curved design as it has been observed in Galaxy S4 but has a lens known as Zoom Ring and it helps in controlling the zooming feature of the camera. The screen size is similar to that of Galaxy S4 Mini. Its thickness though is double to that of Galaxy S4 and heavier than it. But is less heavy than Galaxy Camera. Due to the lens, the top of the device feel heavy and the device is also not very pocket friendly. Its microSD card slot is located towards the left hand side. The screen is too bright and vibrant but the loss of the sharpness can be observed while playing games or watching videos in full HD.

OS and Tech

Android v4.2.2 Jelly Beans has been used in this device along with the Samsung’s own TouchWiz UI on its top. The OS is well suited with the support of the RAM and processor and the performance is quite smooth of the device. The multitasking is also quite quick.

Camera and Multimedia

Camera is most important feature of this device and the camera here is quite impressive. The performance of the camera is also very impressive. The 16MP main camera has been given support of 10x optical zoom along with Xenon flash which helps in taking pictures under low light along with an image stabilizer which reduces the blurriness and keeps the things in the scene steady. It has 25 Smart scene modes which makes the photography really a decent experience. The camera is also capable of recording videos while the 1.9MP front camera is also decent for the selfies and the video conferencing.  The performance of the camera is very best as compared to other cameras in other smartphone.

Battery and Memory

The device is equipped with 2330mAh battery which is little less than what has been provided to S4. The company claims that this battery is capable of providing about 7hrs of internet use over the 3G and 8hrs on the Wi-Fi. The battery is decent enough and works fine while using internet over it, taking pictures or playing games. It can work for whole day but under more heavy use, this would require recharging once in a day. The RAM is just enough for the device while the internal 8GB storage is less but the 64GB expansion is good.

Verdict

This is a nice smartphone talking about its camera feature and is considered also a decent camera/smartphone hybrid device. This is a mid-range device which is quite decent invention from Samsung and works as it was expected. But this is not recommended to everyone only those who are lovers of photography can purchase it.
