Gionee Elife E5 Mobile Price List in India

Gionee has several smartphones on its credit. The Elife E5 is one among them and is the second phone in Elife series. The price is little high for the phone. This is a decent device having good internal specifications especially the internal storage is quite high allowing as many apps to be installed in internal storage as one wishes without worrying for the storage. This set was launched by Gionee after the success of Elife E3 which itself is a very decent set having attractive hardware.

Features and Specifications

The display screen of the device is 4.8inch having full HD super AMOLED touchscreen and 1.5GHz quad-core processor. The RAM is 1GB here and the built-in internal storage is 16GB out of which 13GB is readily available to users but no further memory extension in shape of microSD card slot is available here. Android v4.2.1 Jelly Beans is used as the OS. The back camera is of 8MP which also record video at 720x1080pi having auto focus and LED flash. The front facing camera is of 5MP which is fixed focus and used for video conferencing. The battery provided to this set is 2000mAh Li-ion while the connectivity options are Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, 3G, and GPS.

Design and Quality

The 4.8inch display of this Smartphone has perfect brightness and provides perfect viewing angles. Due to the super AMOLED screen, the colors look perfect. Visibility of the screen under sunlight is also nice but the display gets little shiny under sunlight and it is highly prone to fingerprints. In order to avoid scratches, the screen has a hardened glass. Above the screen, there is an earpiece, the 5MP front camera and a lens along with sensor. The three capacitive touchscreen are located at the bottom of the screen and they get light up if pressed. The phone has sleek design with curved corners. The front bezel is black and the back cover is white. The other back covers available are yellow and graphite black. The power button and the volume rocker are placed at the left side of the phone having steel finish. The microSIM card slot is towards the right side under a flap cover along with a microUSB slot. The 3.5mm audiojack is located at the top of the phone and placed on the back cover rather than actually on top of set. The back of the phone is all plastic having smooth finish thus making it slippery but the build quality is good. The back camera has a steel rim all around it and a secondary microphone is also located at the top of the back camera. At the bottom of the back, there is a loud speaker grill.

OS and Tech

The Smartphone has Android v4.2.1 Jelly Beans OS installed on it and this is the common OS in almost every Smartphone having similar specifications but it lacks here the photo filters. The OS is old enough but is strong enough to provide quite efficient multitasking without deteriorating the performance. The processor is strong and provides full support in application navigation.

Camera and Multimedia

The back camera has BSI sensor besides the LED flash. The UI of the camera is very different. The switch button for the camera is located on the left side. The macro images of the pictures are good but the white balancing of the background is very poor. Under low light, the quality of the pictures gets more worst but using LED flash for low light, the quality gets little decent. Even under proper light, the color details of the pictures are not good. The front 5MP camera is quite decent in performance. The back camera can also record videos at reasonable 1080p in full HD resolution. The video quality is acceptable but not of high quality.

Battery and Memory

The device is capable enough to manage the power sensibly along with having battery saver apps making the battery life much improved. The 2000mAh battery is quite high and provides full day and a half of the mobile use if used under moderate conditions. While under heavy use, the battery gets drained off too quickly. The RAM is limited to 1GB out of which only 967MB is available for the user and the internal storage is quite large 16GB out of which 13GB is available for the users. 13GB is handsome memory and this is the reason no further extension to the memory is provided in this case.

Verdict

The Elife E5 is quite worthy upgrade of Elife E3. The set has many pluses like good design, good build quality along with slimmer body and a good battery life. The back camera is of average quality which should have been given a boost besides lacking the secondary storage and these limitations are also observed in Xolo Q1000S. The Elife E5 is an expensive Smartphone which may not allow user to go for it that much.
