Lava Iris 505 Mobile Price in India
Launched in 2013, the Lava Iris 505 is a budget smartphone with decent features to flaunt. Like always, Lava has targeted the young generation with its devices which are always budget friendly, yet never fail to impress. Considering the tough competition from other manufacturers when it comes to the budget range smartphones in India, we see manufacturers vying for newer approaches to come out on top. The Iris 505 also packs some great quality components for a budget handset.
Features and Specifications
The Lava Iris 505 is a Dual SIM handset with a 5 inch TFT Capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 16M colors. The on-board screen also supports Multi-touch. OS used in the device is Androidv4.2 Jelly Bean, which is quite the powerful OS in its own right. The processor giving juice to the smartphone is a 1.2GHz dual core processor. The smartphone sports a 512MB RAM while the internal memory is 4GB which can be further expanded by a Micro-SD card up to 32GB. The primary rear camera is a 5 MP shooter with an LED flash which can also shoot videos at 720p resolution. There is a secondary front camera present in the Lava Iris 455, which takes surprisingly nice snaps for a 0.3MP VGA camera. The battery here is 2000mAh Li-Po battery while all the connectivity features are decked on the smartphone.
Design and Quality
The Smartphone is quite heavy, at 178 grams and also lies in the thicker side, being 9.48mm thick. The viewing angles are quite good for the phone and the narrowed bezels give it a premium charm. The back side of the phone has a premium matte casing which looks good and makes for a comfortable grip. At the same time, it is quite prone to smudges and basically acts as a fingerprint magnet.
OS and Tech
Coming to the OS, the device is powered by Androidv4.2 Jelly Bean, which accounts for the fast and butter performance of the smartphone. Jelly Bean is quite light on the RAM yet suffices for the lag less multi-tasking capabilities of the phone. The phone has many innovative tweaks, thanks to Lava- like the gesture control and Fusion Media player.
Camera and Multimedia
The Lava Iris 505 comes with a 5MP AF camera with an LED flash. The camera itself is slightly protruded and the ring encasing the camera gives it a snappy look. The Camera has many features like Panorama, HDR, geo-tagging and 99 continuous shots. The front 0.3MP camera is also impressive and takes some great shots in daylight. All the multimedia features are on-board thanks to the HSDPA support.
Battery and Memory
The battery providing the essential juice to the handset is a 2000mAh Li-Po battery. In actuality, the battery drains quite fast when running the smartphone in task-intensive mode. For average usage, the battery may be able to cope up the day, but anything above that, drains the juice fast. For a device, running the Android Jelly Bean, 512MB of RAM is good enough. The dual core processor along with the RAM guarantees a smooth experience and playback. The internal memory here is a mere 4GB, but that can be well expanded to 32GB with a Micro-SD expansion card.
Pros and Cons:
Pros:
• Large Screen with Android Jelly Bean
• Good Camera
Cons:
• Quite Bulky
• Low Internal Memory
Verdict:
With all the manufacturers trying to best each other in a race for control over the budget segment, it will be quite difficult for the Iris 505 to make it large among other smartphones like Nokia Lumia 535 and Redmi 1S, which come with the new generation features. The Iris 505 is a dependable phone through and through, which will not disappoint.
