Intex Aqua N2 Mobile Price in India
Budget phones are a very big business in the Country and rightfully so as they promise to deliver most of the same features found in bigger and better but more expensive phones and a lower more affordable cost. The price of this particular phone i.e. Intex Aqua N2 is oddly not as low as it should be considering the specs it sports. 850MB of internal memory, 512MB of RAM, Android v4.2.2 Jelly Bean, 5MP camera and 1400mAh battery do not warrant a price tag of over Rs. 6000. Below we will go over the features of the phone and reach our verdict while also seeing how it stacks up against its rivals in the market.
Features and Specifications
The Intex Aqua N2 features a 4 inch display of the TFT type with FWVGA resolution which is 800 x 480 pixels (not HD in case you did not know). It has dual sim support and can utilize both 2G and 3G networks. The OS is rather outdated with Android v4.2.2 Jelly Bean installed in it. The computing power of the phones is comprised of a 1.2GHz Quadcore processor, a 512 MB RAM chip and a MTK6572 Graphics Processing Unit. The camera is 5MP with LED flash support and video recording enabled as well.
Design and Quality
Design wise this phone is nothing special as the looks imitate the classic android phones of the past. With slimmer bezels a possibility even for budget smartphones it is sad to see so much area left unutilized especially at the top of the screen. The 5MP camera found at the rear is raised above the rest of the surrounding area meaning it is much more prone to scratches when the phone is kept face up. The phone comes in a plain white color and is mostly made up of durable plastic which does not feel as good as the ones found on more expensive phones.
OS and Tech
Android is very popular in the mobile world these days and no wonder as you have the ability to tinker with it and basically modify your phone if you so wish. The Intex Aqua N2 uses Android as well albeit an older version which is v4.2.2 Jelly Bean. It is best that Intex went with this version as the low RAM (512MB) would not be able to handle the OS as well leading to memory related crashes or jerky performance. The phone features Bluetooth 2.0, MicroUSB, WiFi, GPS and has in in-built FM Radio as well.
Camera and Multimedia
The 5MP camera has LED flash support which makes talking photos in low light situations much better. It cannot compare to the likes of Xenon Flash that some phones like the Nokia N8 sport which makes taking photos in even complete darkness an easy feat. The front camera is 1.3MP so even though you can take selfies with it you should not expect anything more than super grainy images to come out especially in the evening. Android has such a rich media friendly environment that you can enjoy almost all video and audio formats with the help of downloadable apps from the Google Play Store.
Battery and Memory
The battery capacity on this phone is just 1400mAh which delivers an abysmal 5hrs of talk time and an unimpressive 220hrs of standby time. With no HD screen or high speed processors to suck up the battery life it is amazing to see such low talk time figures. The memory is a disappointment as well as 850MB is next to nothing and will be a major impediment to installing many apps and games. Android prevents any apps or games from being installed anywhere else other than the main internal memory and 850MB is not enough. A MicroSD card is a must buy for this phone and thankfully the phone supports it.
Pros and Cons
For Pros:
· Dual Sim
· Android OS
For Cons:
· Price
· 850MB ROM
· 512 RAM
· Poor Battery performance
Verdict
Rivals like the Nokia Lumia 630 and the Samsung Galaxy Core 2 will make it a very tough job for this phone to compete in its price range. Both rivals have much better specs and are priced in the same range which makes the possibility that people will choose the Intex Aqua N2 a very poor one. The most glaring flaws are the very low internal memory available; 850MB of space is a major blunder on Intex’s part as installing apps and games on the phone will be severely limited plus the possibility that the phone will suffer memory related crashes is also very high.
