Huawei Ascend Y511 Mobile Price in India
Huawei Technologies is a Chinese multinational that is into networking, services and telecommunications. Huawei is said to be the largest telecommunications equipment manufacturer in the world and took over Ericsson in 2012. Though it has not been able to make a mark in the smart phones section in India, it could improve and the tables might turn. The Huawei Ascend Y511 was launched in October 2013 and has some decent reviews. Let us take a quick look.
Features & Specifications:
The phone has a 4.5 inch touch screen and packs a dual core 1.3GHz Cortex-A7 CPU. The GPU (Graphics processing Unit) is Mali-400. The phone as an internal memory of 4GB and a 512 MB RAM. It also comes with the usual features like Accelerometer, Proximity sensor and Ambient light sensor. It has Wi-Fi (802.11b/g/n) support, Wi-Fi hotspot facility, Bluetooth 4.0 and Micro USB (High Speed USB). It also has an HTML browser and supports JAVA.
Design and Quality:
The phone is available in two colors White and Black. The screen is 4.5 inches, has a FWVGA type touch screen with a resolution of 854×480 and 16M colors. The multipoint touch supports up to 5 point touch. The device is 132.88mm in height, 67.4mm in width and weighs around 150g. The look of the device is very similar to the standard Samsung phone. Maybe the curved edges and the front touch-press buttons are to blame. Ascend Y511 is simple looking and easy on the eyes. Overall the design and quality are good.
OS and Tech:
The phone sports an Android 4.2 Jelly Bean version which is slightly old as compared to other phones in the same range. The dual core processor runs at 1.3GHz. The RAM is 512MB and is not up to the mark as compared to the competition and is a drawback. Rapidly switching between multiple apps might be cumbersome. Other phones with similar RAM size and processors are Micromax A65 Bolt, LG L60 and Lenovo A369i.
Camera and Multimedia:
The phone comes with a 3.0 MP camera which is quite low as compared to the other phones in the market which come with 8.0 MP at a bare minimum. No prizes for guessing, the picture quality is far from acceptable and leaves much to be desired. The front camera is 0.3 MP VGA and produces very low quality pictures which will take you back a decade (hence a blast from the past). Video formats supported are only MP4 and 3GP. Audio formats supported are MP3, WAV, OGG, MIDand AMR. All in all, there is nothing extraordinary in this department.
Battery and Memory:
Packed with a 512MB RAM and a 4GB ROM the phone is capable of handling only basic usage. Too much multi-tasking will be an issue. The external memory is expandable up to 32GB which is decent enough for a phone in this price range.
The Battery Capacity is 1730 mAh. The stand by time is 300 hours and talk time is up to 5 hours. Battery capacity is just about acceptable but again, it is difficult to ask for more from a low priced phone.
Pros and Cons:
Pros:
· Low price
· Comes with a GPU
Cons:
· Bad camera quality
· RAM is only 512MB
· Outdated Operating System (Jelly Bean)
Verdict:
This phone was launched more than 1.5 years back and that certainly shows in its features. The camera and OS are out dated and the RAM is disappointing. There are quite a few phones in the market at the same price with same or even better features. Some of them are XOLO A600 and Lava Iris 450 color.
