XOLO Q800 X-Edition
Score
XOLO Q800 X-Edition Mobile Price in India
The Q800 X-Edition is a slight improvement over its predecessors and now comes with Full HD recording and X-Themes interface. It is powered by a MT6589 CPU CA7 Quad Core processor clocked at 1.2 GHz. The MT6589 is a significant improvement over Q800`s MT6589M. While MT6589M can support only up to 8 MP camera and HD recording, the MT6589 can go as far as 13 MP camera with full-HD video recording. The rest of the features are similar to Q800. But the processor upgrade significantly boosts the phone`s ability to play games, by providing a smooth and lag-free gaming experience.

Design and Quality
A 4.5-InchqHDIPS display of 540x960 resolutions with effective pixel density of 245 ppi gives a fine display quality. Even with curved edges, the phone looks more rectangular than the previous models. The back panel has an X symbol to claim the manufacturer`s brand to the world. Although made from plastic, the phone sports a good finish. Both volume rocker and power button are located on the right side of the device.
OS and Tech
Xolo Q800 X-Edition runs on Android 4.1 Jellybean operating system, with promised over-the-air OS upgrades. The standard apps such as Google search, Gmail, document viewer, image/video editor, and so on, are present. An interesting addition with XOLO is the Xolo Secure app. This app allows the owner to take backups of data to protect against data loss or theft, and also track the phone remotely in case of theft. The PowerVR SGX544 GPU has turned it into quite a powerful gaming device.

Pros and Cons
For Pros:
· Fast Processor

· Decent camera features
· Expandable up to 32 GB
· Good touch response
For Cons:
· Poor battery
· Average display
Verdict
The phone`s features and quality are in tune with the sub-10,000 INR price. The phone fares better than most big-brand phone in the range such as Motorola Moto G or Nokia X. However when pitched against Xiaomi Redmi 1S, fails pretty badly as a budget phone, especially on the display front. Even other models like XOLO Q900 and XOLO Q1000, are clearly a better bargain at their price. For someone looking for an upgrade from Q800 to Q800 X-Edition, it only makes sense if they are looking for a better gaming experience. It is time XOLO stops releasing new phones with marginal improvements in hardware features.
