XOLO A500S IPS Mobile Price List in India

Xolo is an Indian based smart phone brand which was launched in early 2012 by Lava. It has been an uphill journey ever since it launched its first smartphone. But it is not rated any higher than Micromax and the journey is still quite a long way for the best. In July 2013, it announced its A500S which is affordable and has all the qualities you would look for in an idea cell phone.

Features and Specifications:

The display is 4.0 inches with the IPS touch screen of standard 800×480 pixels with a resolution of 16M colors. Although with a smooth and responsive touch, but gets a little sticky at times. This problem can be amended with the help of the screen guard, it affects a lot. The phone has a battery of 1400 mAh. It bears a RAM of 512 MB and a dual core processor of 1.3 GHz. The connectivity options include all the essentials like Wi-Fi, 3g, Edge, GPRS, Bluetooth. The primary camera provided is of 5 MP and the front camera is a VGA and entertains functions like geo tagging and panoramic capture. It includes the chipset of Mediatek MT6572W and Accelerometer, proximity sensors.

Quality & Design:

The phone is a well built device, which is also quite light weight (120 grams) and slim (9.31 mm) too. The width of the phone is 63.2 mm and length is 125 mm. It has a premium look that has a unique attraction to it which you don’t see everyday.

The power button is situated at the right, the volume rockers are on the left, and there are the standard 3.5 mm audio jack and a micro USB version 2.0 port at the top. The back cover is a matte finish which makes it quite easy to grip the phone.

The XOLO A500S IPS is available in blue, red, black and white colors as told by the company.  Only the black version is currently available in the market.

OS & Tech:

Powered by a dual core processor of 1.3 GHz cortex-A7, XOLO A500S IPS supports dual SIM and bears an operating system of Android version 4.2 with a RAM of 512 MB. The price of this smart phone is under Rs. 7000/-.

Camera & Multimedia:

The rear camera, like its brothers Xolo A500 and Xolo A500S, is a 5 Mega pixels quality lens bearer with a LED flash alongside it. It can record an HD video of 720p and also has a feature of panoramic capture. The front camera also known as the selfie camera is a VGA. The sound is decently loud enough not to be distorted. The 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and the GPS functions work flawlessly. The multimedia includes a radio, MP4, H.263 player, as well as an MP3, WAV, AAC player.

Battery & Memory:

The phone has a battery of 1400 mAh which gives us a standby battery time of 492 hours on 2G and 270 hours on 3G and a talk time of 10 hours on 2G while 8 hours while using 3G.

The handset entails a RAM of 512 M, in which only 237 MB is accessible. The internal memory of the device is 4 GB, out of which 1.27 GB is reserved for the applications, and the same amount for the phone storage. The internal memory of the cell phone is extendable with the help of a micro SD memory card, the slot of which is in the rear cover alongside the dual SIM port. The applications can only be installed on the external storage.

Pros & Cons:

Pros:

• The price is as cheap as it gets.
• The phone is definitely better than its predecessors, A500 and A500S.
• The dimensions are almost perfect.
• The 4.0 inches display at this cheap a price is almost unbelievable.

Cons:

• The RAM is not even near to enough for the dual core processor. It’s only 512 MB. The phone will definitely lag.
• There is no auto focus function in the cam.
• The battery time decreases quite quickly.

Verdict:

Obviously a more sensible choice than any of its brothers;  XOLO A500 and XOLO A500S. The performance to the price ratio is magnificent as the price is too cheap for a phone with such a great performance. Although there is no auto focus camera, the fixed focus camera is good in performance for the outdoors only in the sunlight. HD videos can both be recorded and played easily without any lag. Our suggestion is, if you are a gamer with a passion for high quality heavy games, this is not for you, otherwise, this is the best phone with the best performance in this price you can get.
