Intex Cloud Y3
Intex Cloud Y3 Mobile Price in India
Intex has been a major player in the local mobile market ever since they started up in 1996 with launching affordable and good spec mobiles. Dual core and Dual sim mobiles are very popular these days and Intex is looking to introduce another player into the market to carve out a bit of market share from the rest. Their recent addition to the lineup by the name of Intex Cloud Y3 promises the same quality and price tag they are known for. It features a Dual core processor with an Android OS v4.2.2 Jelly Bean installed and dual sim functionality.
Features and Specifications
Intex has taken a different approach to their dual sim option with both sims relegated to only 2G networks instead of the common one sim 3G and the other 2G practice most handsets adopt. It features a 4inch IPS FWVGA display with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels and 262K colors. Inside it is powered by 1.2Ghz Dual Core processors and 512MB RAM. The internal memory is just 1.12GB but it does include an option to expand memory with a MicroSD slot capable of a max 32GB memory card. Connectivity features in the phone are the usual WiFi, Bluetooth, USB and WiFi Hotspot with GPS. The camera on the device is 3.2MP with LED flash and video recording enabled while the front camera is 1.2MP. The OS in the handset is Android’s v4.2.2 Jelly Bean and can be used for a wide array of tasks.
Design and Quality
The Intex Cloud Y3 is available in only white color and gives it a nice clean look. Its rounded edges successfully give it that bar shaped look and add to its sturdy looks even though it is just 11.2mm thick. The body is made from good quality durable plastic and features a big vertical Cloud Y3 logo at the back. The Intex logo is found the bottom of the rear while the camera with a 3.2 Megapixel logo is positioned at the top of the rear. The loudspeaker is also at the back in the form of two horizontal openings. There are three capacitive touch keys located below the 4inch display and work nicely.
OS and Tech
The phone is fitted with Android OS v4.2.2 Jelly Bean which is the usual version for a phone with 512MB RAM to come equipped with. Android’s Jelly Bean is typically found on low spec phones since it does not need much memory to perform its functions and the same can be expected here. The user is also able to access the Google Play Store to download apps and games. Other Tech features in the handset include proximity, motion and G sensors to further increase the user experience.
Camera and Multimedia
The primary camera is 3.2MP with a LED flash which can be used to take images of max 2048x1536 pixels and record video. The front camera is 1.2MP and can only be used to take images only as no video recording capability is available for that. The phone comes with the capability to play videos and supports MP4 & 3GPP formats. It also includes support for audio playback for MP3/MIDI/WAV/AAC formats and comes bundled with headphones. Lastly FM Radio is also an included feature and can be utilized when headphones are attached like with all phones with this feature.
Battery and Memory
The battery is 1500mAh and has a talk time of up to 5 hours while the standby time is up to 125 hours. 1500mah of battery capacity is sufficient to power the device for many hours while the user performs their required tasks. The internal memory capacity is very low at around 1.12GB but the option to use a MicroSD card of up to 32GB exists. The 512 MB normally would be a big issue but Android Jelly Bean can utilize it well enough to provide sufficient performance.
Pros and Cons
For Pros:
· Good build quality
· Dual Sim
· Lightweight
For Cons:
· Not full HD screen
· Low RAM
· Battery Life
· No 3G
· Price could be lower
Verdict
If you only want to use this phone for basic social media then there would be no issue. Jelly Bean is old and outdated yet MicroMax chose to fit their phone with it while others utilize KitKat and Lollipop versions of Android. The phone offers dual sim functions but only for 2G networks though thankfully has WiFi at least. If the price wasn't so high for this low spec phone when compared to more powerful phones in the same price range such as the Micromax Canvas Xpress A99 or the Panasonic Eluga A then it might stand a chance. As it is now the phone is only best for those that don’t demand high performance from their phone.
