Introduced by domestic cell phone maker Intex for the Indian market, Aqua i2 is an affordable dual SIM Smartphone with quite impressive features that seems perfect to most of the Smartphone users. The company announced the phone in the beginning of 2014 with 5.0 inches Full wide VGA display, 1.2GHz dual core processor, 512MB RAM, Android Jelly Bean v4.2.2 and power it up with 1700mAh battery to keep the phone alive all the day. Although the 4 GB internal memory is not extra ordinary but the storage can be extended up to 32GB using microSD card. Along with the dual standby SIM, the dual camera is another plus from the company and seems that this low-cost Smartphone will gain big attention from the buyers.

Intex Aqua i2 is a mid-range Smartphone powered by 1.2GHz dual core MediaTek processor along with 512MB RAM. Come with 04GB internal memory which can be extended up to 32GB. The phone has 5 inches Full Wide VGA display and capacitive touchscreen. It is also equipped with 5.0 Megapixel rear camera along with LED flash and 2.0MP front camera which is just OK to produce average quality result. The device runs Android v4.2.2 Jelly Bean OS and to keep it running all the day under average use, a 1700mAh removable battery is there. This dual SIM and Dual Camera large screen Smartphone comes in White, Black and Green color, all these look elegant and stylish.

Design and Quality

The phone comes in three attractive colors, White, Black and Green with beautifully curved edges make it easy to handle and the slim stylish design makes the phone look and feel nice. The minimalistic design of the phone include three navigation buttons on the front suited well under the stunning 5.0 inches wide front screen and elongated Ear piece on the top match perfect along with the 2.0 MP front camera.  Back of the phones is stylized with 5MP rear camera along with LED flash light under it. A big speaker resides at the right-bottom corner of the phone aids in the phone beauty. The sides houses keys for volume and phone lock while the 3.5mm Audio jack on the top fits well in the thin body and do not hassle the design of the phone.

OS and Tech

Intex Aqua i2 is powered and work fine with Android v4.2.2 Jelly Bean OS. Although this version of Android OS was good at the time of its release but looks outdated today. To achieve great performance, multitasking and most out of the Android Jelly Bean, the phone is backed up with 1.2GHz MediaTek processor alongside the 512MB RAM. The processor seems good as most of the same price-range Smartphones have the same speed processor however the 512MB RAM is obviously a drawback but it is enough for average use.

Camera and Multimedia

Among the other specification of the Intex Aqua i2, camera section is not efficient. The 5MP rear camera with autofocus feature gives an average quality picture which is just acceptable and is expected from the low price devices. Same is true for the Video recording and the result goes terrible under dim light. Although LED flash light enables the users to take somewhat clear images in dim light. The 2MP front camera is not as good as the 5MP front camera of Micromax Canvas Knight Cameo A290 to take Selfie but is fine for video calling.

Battery and Memory

To keep the Aqua i2 alive all the day, it is powered with 1700mAh traditional Li-ion battery which according to the company listing, can deliver up to 212 hours standby time or 5.6 hours talk time. The phone can run whole day under average use which is just an average battery timing for Smartphone but the plus point in Intex Aqua i2 is that the battery is replaceable so you can have a pair of battery to keep the phone running for long time or have to carry a power bank along the phone if going on a long journey. Same goes true for the 04 GB internal storage which is not much too much but the device support extension facility and storage can be further extend to 32GB using microSD card. With 512MB RAM, the device cannot bear heavy work and performance lags may be observed.

Intex Aqua i2 is indeed a budget Smartphone with average specs. Its large screen, stylish design, soothing color and Dual SIM feature at an affordable price make it an overall nice model by the Intex and these key features are enough to get buyers attention. However the real drawbacks of this Smartphone model is its limited storage, RAM and outdated Android OS which make the competition difficult for Intex Aqua i2 as many Smartphone including Asus ZenFone 5, Xolo Omega 5 and Karbonn Titanium Octane Plus with same specs and price range are there in the market as a big rival. For better camera at same price range, most of the users will prefer Wiio WI3 which comes with 8MP rear and 2MP front camera.
